ਬਿਖਿਆਸਕਤ ਰਹਿਓ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਕੀਨੋ ਅਪਨੋ ਭਾਇਓ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bikhiāsakat rahiō nis bāsur kīnō apanō bhāiō .1. rahāu .
I remained under the influence of corruption, night and day; I did whatever I pleased. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਸੁਨਿਓ ਨਹਿ ਕਾਨਨਿ ਪਰ ਦਾਰਾ ਲਪਟਾਇਓ ॥
gur upadēs suniō nah kānan par dārā lapatāiō .
I never listened to the Guru's Teachings; I was entangled with others' spouses.
ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਾਰਨਿ ਬਹੁ ਧਾਵਤ ਸਮਝਿਓ ਨਹ ਸਮਝਾਇਓ ॥੧॥
par nindā kāran bah dhāvat samajhiō nah samajhāiō .1.
I ran all around slandering others; I was taught, but I never learned. ||1||
ਕਹਾ ਕਹਉ ਮੈ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਰਨੀ ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਓ ॥
kahā kahau mai apunī karanī jih bidh janam gavāiō .
How can I even describe my actions? This is how I wasted my life.
ਕਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭ ਅਉਗਨ ਮੋ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਸਰਨਾਇਓ ॥੨॥੪॥੩॥੧੩॥੧੩੯॥੪॥੧੫੯॥
kah nānak sabh augan mō mah rākh lēh saranāiō .2.4.3.13.139.4.159.
Says Nanak, I am totally filled with faults. I have come to Your Sanctuary - please save me, O Lord! ||2||4||3||13||139||4||159||
