Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਮਤਿ ਥੋਰੀ ॥
har kē nāmahīn mat thōrī .
Without the Name of the Lord, his intellect is shallow.
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਹਿ ਸਿਰੀਧਰ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮਿਲਤ ਅੰਧ ਦੁਖ ਘੋਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
simarat nāh sirīdhar thākur milat andh dukh ghōrī .1. rahāu .
He does not meditate in remembrance on the Lord, his Lord and Master; the blind fool suffers in terrible agony. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਨ ਲਾਗੀ ਅਨਿਕ ਭੇਖ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਰੀ ॥
har kē nām siu prīt n lāgī anik bhēkh bah jōrī .
He does not embrace love for the Name of the Lord; he is totally attached to various religious robes.
ਤੂਟਤ ਬਾਰ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਜਿਉ ਗਾਗਰਿ ਜਲ ਫੋਰੀ ॥੧॥
tūtat bār n lāgai tā kau jiu gāgar jal phōrī .1.
His attachments are shattered in an instant; when the pitcher is broken, the water runs out. ||1||
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਮਨੁ ਖਚਿਤ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰਸ ਖੋਰੀ ॥
kar kirapā bhagat ras dījai man khachit prēm ras khōrī .
Please bless me, that I may worship You in loving devotion. My mind is absorbed and intoxicated with Your Delicious Love.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਆਨ ਨ ਹੋਰੀ ॥੨॥੭੧॥੯੪॥
nānak dās tērī saranāī prabh bin ān n hōrī .2.71.94.
Nanak, Your slave, has entered Your Sanctuary; without God, there is no other at all. ||2||71||94||
