ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਚਿ ਮਾਚਿ ਹਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਓ ਜੋ ਕਾਮਿ ਨਹੀ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
tin siu rāch māch hit lāiō jō kām nahī gāvārī .1.
He is hand and glove with those who are of no use to him; the poor wretch is affectionately involved with them. ||1||
ਹਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾ ਹਮਰੋ ਬਸੁ ਚਾਰੀ ॥
hau nāhī nāhī kish mērā nā hamarō bas chārī .
I am nothing; nothing belongs to me. I have no power or control.
ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੰਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥੩੬॥੫੯॥
karan karāvan nānak kē prabh santan sang udhārī .2.36.59.
O Creator, Cause of causes, Lord God of Nanak, I am saved and redeemed in the Society of the Saints. ||2||36||59||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਪੁਨੀ ਇਤਨੀ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
apunī itanī kashū n sārī .
By himself, the mortal cannot accomplish anything.
ਅਨਿਕ ਕਾਜ ਅਨਿਕ ਧਾਵਰਤਾ ਉਰਝਿਓ ਆਨ ਜੰਜਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anik kāj anik dhāvaratā urajhiō ān janjārī .1. rahāu .
He runs around chasing all sorts of projects, engrossed in other entanglements. ||1||Pause||
ਦਿਉਸ ਚਾਰਿ ਕੇ ਦੀਸਹਿ ਸੰਗੀ ਊਹਾਂ ਨਾਹੀ ਜਹ ਭਾਰੀ ॥
dius chār kē dīsah sangī ūhānh nāhī jah bhārī .
His companions of these few days will not be there when he is in trouble.
