Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਮੇਰੋ ਮਨੁ ਜਤ ਕਤ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਰੈ ॥
mērō man jat kat tujhah samhārai .
My mind contemplates You, O Lord, all the time.
ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਦੀਨ ਪਿਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਤਿਉ ਪਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ham bārik dīn pitā prabh mērē jiu jānah tiu pārai .1. rahāu .
I am Your meek and helpless child; You are God my Father. As You know me, You save me. ||1||Pause||
ਜਬ ਭੁਖੌ ਤਬ ਭੋਜਨੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਅਘਾਏ ਸੂਖ ਸਘਾਰੈ ॥
jab bhukhau tab bhōjan mānhgai aghāē sūkh saghārai .
When I am hungry, I ask for food; when I am full, I am totally at peace.
ਤਬ ਅਰੋਗ ਜਬ ਤੁਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਤੌ ਛੁਟਕਤ ਹੋਇ ਰਵਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
tab arōg jab tum sang basatau shutakat hōi ravārai .1.
When I dwell with You, I am free of disease; if I become separated from You, I turn to dust. ||1||
ਕਵਨ ਬਸੇਰੋ ਦਾਸ ਦਾਸਨ ਕੋ ਥਾਪਿਉ ਥਾਪਨਹਾਰੈ ॥
kavan basērō dās dāsan kō thāpiu thāpanahārai .
What power does the slave of Your slave have, O Establisher and Disestablisher?
ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਤਬ ਜੀਵਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੨੯॥੫੨॥
nām n bisarai tab jīvan pāīai binatī nānak ih sārai .2.29.52.
If I do not forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, then I die. Nanak offers this prayer. ||2||29||52||
