Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਪਨਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
apanā mīt suāmī gāīai .
Sing of your Lord and Master, your Best Friend.
ਆਸ ਨ ਅਵਰ ਕਾਹੂ ਕੀ ਕੀਜੈ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ās n avar kāhū kī kījai sukhadātā prabh dhiāīai .1. rahāu .
Do not place your hopes in anyone else; meditate on God, the Giver of peace. ||1||Pause||
ਸੂਖ ਮੰਗਲ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਜਿਸਹਿ ਘਰਿ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਸਰਣੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
sūkh mangal kaliān jisah ghar tis hī saranī pāīai .
Peace, joy and salvation are in His Home. Seek the Protection of His Sanctuary.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਜੇ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਤਉ ਲਾਜ ਲੋਨੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
tisah tiāg mānukh jē sēvah tau lāj lōn hōi jāīai .1.
But if you forsake Him, and serve mortal beings, your honor will dissolve like salt in water. ||1||
ਏਕ ਓਟ ਪਕਰੀ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੀ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਮਤਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
ēk ōt pakarī thākur kī gur mil mat budh pāīai .
I have grasped the Anchor and Support of my Lord and Master; meeting with the Guru, I have found wisdom and understanding.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਚੁਕੀ ਮੁਹਤਾਈਐ ॥੨॥੨੬॥੪੯॥
gun nidhān nānak prabh miliā sagal chukī muhatāīai .2.26.49.
Nanak has met God, the Treasure of Excellence; all dependence on others is gone. ||2||26||49||
