Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਓਅੰ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਚੀਤਿ ਪਹਿਲਰੀਆ ॥
ōan pri prīt chīt pahilarīā .
My consciousness has loved my Beloved God, since the very beginning of time.
ਜੋ ਤਉ ਬਚਨੁ ਦੀਓ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤਉ ਮੈ ਸਾਜ ਸੀਗਰੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jō tau bachan dīō mērē satigur tau mai sāj sīgarīā .1. rahāu .
When You blessed me with the Teachings, O my True Guru, I was embellished with beauty. ||1||Pause||
ਹਮ ਭੂਲਹ ਤੁਮ ਸਦਾ ਅਭੂਲਾ ਹਮ ਪਤਿਤ ਤੁਮ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਰੀਆ ॥
ham bhūlah tum sadā abhūlā ham patit tum patit udharīā .
I am mistaken; You are never mistaken. I am a sinner; You are the Saving Grace of sinners.
ਹਮ ਨੀਚ ਬਿਰਖ ਤੁਮ ਮੈਲਾਗਰ ਲਾਜ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਬਸਰੀਆ ॥੧॥
ham nīch birakh tum mailāgar lāj sang sang basarīā .1.
I am a lowly thorn-tree, and You are the sandalwood tree. Please preserve my honor by staying with me; please stay with me. ||1||
ਤੁਮ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਧੀਰ ਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਹਮ ਕਿਆ ਬਪੁਰੇ ਜੰਤਰੀਆ ॥
tum ganbhīr dhīr upakārī ham kiā bapurē jantarīā .
You are deep and profound, calm and benevolent. What am I? Just a poor helpless being.
ਗੁਰ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿਓ ਤਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੂਖਿ ਸੇਜਰੀਆ ॥੨॥੨੨॥੪੫॥
gur kripāl nānak har mēliō tau mērī sūkh sējarīā .2.22.45.
The Merciful Guru Nanak has united me with the Lord. I lay on His Bed of Peace. ||2||22||45||
