Saarang, Fifth Mehl:
ਮਨ ਸਦਾ ਮੰਗਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗਾਇ ॥
man sadā mangal gōbind gāi .
O my mind, sing forever the Songs of Joy of the Lord of the Universe.
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਿਟਹਿ ਸਗਲ ਅਘ ਨਿਮਖ ਹੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rōg sōg tērē mitah sagal agh nimakh hīai har nām dhiāi .1. rahāu .
All your disease, sorrow and sin will be erased, if you meditate on the Lord's Name, even for an instant. ||1||Pause||
ਛੋਡਿ ਸਿਆਨਪ ਬਹੁ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਣੀ ਜਾਇ ਪਾਇ ॥
shōd siānap bah chaturāī sādhū saranī jāi pāi .
Abandon all your clever tricks; go and enter the Sanctuary of the Holy.
ਜਉ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਦੀਨ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਹੋਵੈ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ॥੧॥
jau hōi kripāl dīn dukh bhanjan jam tē hōvai dharam rāi .1.
When the Lord, the Destroyer of the pains of the poor becomes merciful, the Messenger of Death is changed into the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||1||
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੂਜਾ ਆਨ ਨ ਬੀਓ ਲਵੈ ਲਾਇ ॥
ēkas bin nāhī kō dūjā ān n bīō lavai lāi .
Without the One Lord, there is no other at all. No one else can equal Him.
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸਾਇ ॥੨॥੨॥੨੧॥
māt pitā bhāī nānak kō sukhadātā har prān sāi .2.2.21.
The Lord is Nanak's Mother, Father and Sibling, the Giver of Peace, his Breath of Life. ||2||2||21||
