ਸਹਜ ਅਵਲਿ ਧੂੜਿ ਮਣੀ ਗਾਡੀ ਚਾਲਤੀ ॥
sahaj aval dhūr manī gādī chālatī .
Slowly at first, the body-cart loaded with dust starts to move.
ਪੀਛੈ ਤਿਨਕਾ ਲੈ ਕਰਿ ਹਾਂਕਤੀ ॥੧॥
pīshai tinakā lai kar hānhkatī .1.
Later, it is driven on by the stick. ||1||
ਜੈਸੇ ਪਨਕਤ ਥ੍ਰੂਟਿਟਿ ਹਾਂਕਤੀ ॥
jaisē panakat thrūtit hānhkatī .
The body moves along like the ball of dung, driven on by the dung-beetle.
ਸਰਿ ਧੋਵਨ ਚਾਲੀ ਲਾਡੁਲੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sar dhōvan chālī lādulī .1. rahāu .
The beloved soul goes down to the pool to wash itself clean. ||1||Pause||
ਧੋਬੀ ਧੋਵੈ ਬਿਰਹ ਬਿਰਾਤਾ ॥
dhōbī dhōvai birah birātā .
The washerman washes, imbued with the Lord's Love.
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥੨॥
har charan mērā man rātā .2.
My mind is imbued with the Lord's Lotus Feet. ||2||
ਭਣਤਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਰਮਿ ਰਹਿਆ ॥
bhanat nāmadēu ram rahiā .
Prays Naam Dayv, O Lord, You are All-pervading.
ਅਪਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਪਰ ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ॥੩॥੩॥
apanē bhagat par kar daiā .3.3.
