ਤੂ ਕਰਿ ਗਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tū kar gat mērī prabh daiār .1. rahāu .
Save me, O my Merciful Lord God. ||1||Pause||
ਜਾਪ ਨ ਤਾਪ ਨ ਕਰਮ ਕੀਤਿ ॥
jāp n tāp n karam kīt .
I have not practiced meditation, austerities or good actions.
ਆਵੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਛੂ ਰੀਤਿ ॥
āvai nāhī kashū rīt .
I do not know the way to meet You.
ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਉ ਆਸ ਏਕ ॥
man mah rākhau ās ēk .
Within my mind, I have placed my hopes in the One Lord alone.
ਨਾਮ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਤਰਉ ਟੇਕ ॥੨॥
nām tērē kī tarau tēk .2.
The Support of Your Name shall carry me across. ||2||
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ ਪ੍ਰਬੀਨ ॥
sarab kalā prabh tumh prabīn .
You are the Expert, O God, in all powers.
ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਜਲਹਿ ਮੀਨ ॥
ant n pāvah jalah mīn .
The fish cannot find the limits of the water.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਊਚਹ ਤੇ ਊਚ ॥
agam agam ūchah tē ūch .
You are Inaccessible and Unfathomable, the Highest of the High.
ਹਮ ਥੋਰੇ ਤੁਮ ਬਹੁਤ ਮੂਚ ॥੩॥
ham thōrē tum bahut mūch .3.
I am small, and You are so very Great. ||3||
ਜਿਨ ਤੂ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਸੇ ਗਨੀ ॥
jin tū dhiāiā sē ganī .
Those who meditate on You are wealthy.
ਜਿਨ ਤੂ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੇ ਧਨੀ ॥
jin tū pāiā sē dhanī .
Those who attain You are rich.
ਜਿਨਿ ਤੂ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਸੁਖੀ ਸੇ ॥
jin tū sēviā sukhī sē .
Those who serve You are peaceful.
ਸੰਤ ਸਰਣਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰੇ ॥੪॥੭॥
sant saran nānak parē .4.7.
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Saints. ||4||7||

Basant, Fifth Mehl:
ਤੁਮ ਬਡ ਦਾਤੇ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ॥
tum bad dātē dē rahē .
You are the Great Giver; You continue to give.
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹੇ ॥
jī prān mah rav rahē .
You permeate and pervade my soul, and my breath of life.
ਦੀਨੇ ਸਗਲੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਨ ॥
dīnē sagalē bhōjan khān .
You have given me all sorts of foods and dishes.
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਨ ਇਕੁ ਗੁਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਨ ॥੧॥
mōh niragun ik gun n jān .1.
I am unworthy; I know none of Your Virtues at all. ||1||
ਹਉ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਨਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਾਰ ॥
hau kashū n jānau tērī sār .
I do not understand anything of Your Worth.
