ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik ōunkār satigur prasād .
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਅਗਮ ਦ੍ਰੁਗਮ ਗੜਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਬਾਸ ॥
agam drugam gar rachiō bās .
God constructed a fortress, inaccessible and unreachable, in which He dwells.
ਜਾ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਕਰੇ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥
jā mah jōt karē paragās .
There, His Divine Light radiates forth.
ਬਿਜੁਲੀ ਚਮਕੈ ਹੋਇ ਅਨੰਦੁ ॥
bijulī chamakai hōi anand .
Lightning blazes, and bliss prevails there,
ਜਿਹ ਪਉੜ੍ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥੧॥
jih paurhē prabh bāl gōbind .1.
where the Eternally Young Lord God abides. ||1||
ਇਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
ih jīu rām nām liv lāgai .
This soul is lovingly attuned to the Lord's Name.
ਜਰਾ ਮਰਨੁ ਛੂਟੈ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jarā maran shūtai bhram bhāgai .1. rahāu .
It is saved from old age and death, and its doubt runs away. ||1||Pause||
ਅਬਰਨ ਬਰਨ ਸਿਉ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥
abaran baran siu man hī prīt .
Those who believe in high and low social classes,
ਹਉਮੈ ਗਾਵਨਿ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੀਤ ॥
haumai gāvan gāvah gīt .
only sing songs and chants of egotism.
ਅਨਹਦ ਸਬਦ ਹੋਤ ਝੁਨਕਾਰ ॥
anahad sabad hōt jhunakār .
The Unstruck Sound-current of the Shabad, the Word of God, resounds in that place,
ਜਿਹ ਪਉੜ੍ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥੨॥
jih paurhē prabh srī gōpāl .2.
where the Supreme Lord God abides. ||2||
ਖੰਡਲ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੰਡਾ ॥
khandal mandal mandal mandā .
He creates planets, solar systems and galaxies;
ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਤੀਨਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਅ ਖੰਡਾ ॥
tri asathān tīn tri khandā .
He destroys the three worlds, the three gods and the three qualities.
ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਅਭ ਅੰਤ ॥
agam agōchar rahiā abh ant .
The Inaccessible and Unfathomable Lord God dwells in the heart.
ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋ ਧਰਨੀਧਰ ਮੰਤ ॥੩॥
pār n pāvai kō dharanīdhar mant .3.
No one can find the limits or the secrets of the Lord of the World. ||3||
ਕਦਲੀ ਪੁਹਪ ਧੂਪ ਪਰਗਾਸ ॥
kadalī puhap dhūp paragās .
The Lord shines forth in the plantain flower and the sunshine.
ਰਜ ਪੰਕਜ ਮਹਿ ਲੀਓ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥
raj pankaj mah līō nivās .
He dwells in the pollen of the lotus flower.
ਦੁਆਦਸ ਦਲ ਅਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੰਤ ॥
duādas dal abh antar mant .
The Lord's secret is within the twelve petals of the heart-lotus.
ਜਹ ਪਉੜੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਮਲਾ ਕੰਤ ॥੪॥
jah paurē srī kamalā kant .4.
The Supreme Lord, the Lord of Lakshmi dwells there. ||4||
ਅਰਧ ਉਰਧ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੋ ਕਾਸੁ ॥
aradh uradh mukh lāgō kās .
He is like the sky, stretching across the lower, upper and middle realms.
ਸੁੰਨ ਮੰਡਲ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
sunn mandal mah kar paragās .
In the profoundly silent celestial realm, He radiates forth.
ਊਹਾਂ ਸੂਰਜ ਨਾਹੀ ਚੰਦ ॥
ūhānh sūraj nāhī chand .
Neither the sun nor the moon are there,
ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਕਰੈ ਅਨੰਦ ॥੫॥
ād niranjan karai anand .5.
but the Primal Immaculate Lord celebrates there. ||5||
ਸੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡਿ ਪਿੰਡਿ ਸੋ ਜਾਨੁ ॥
sō brahamand pind sō jān .
Know that He is in the universe, and in the body as well.
ਮਾਨ ਸਰੋਵਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥
mān sarōvar kar isanān .
Take your cleansing bath in the Mansarovar Lake.
ਸੋਹੰ ਸੋ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਹੈ ਜਾਪ ॥
sōhan sō jā kau hai jāp .
Chant "Sohang" - "He is me."
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਲਿਪਤ ਨ ਹੋਇ ਪੁੰਨ ਅਰੁ ਪਾਪ ॥੬॥
jā kau lipat n hōi punn ar pāp .6.
He is not affected by either virtue or vice. ||6||
ਅਬਰਨ ਬਰਨ ਘਾਮ ਨਹੀ ਛਾਮ ॥
abaran baran ghām nahī shām .
He is not affected by either high or low social class, sunshine or shade.
ਅਵਰ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਮ ॥
avar n pāīai gur kī sām .
He is in the Guru's Sanctuary, and nowhere else.
ਟਾਰੀ ਨ ਟਰੈ ਆਵੈ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥
tārī n tarai āvai n jāi .
He is not diverted by diversions, comings or goings.
ਸੁੰਨ ਸਹਜ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੭॥
sunn sahaj mah rahiō samāi .7.
Remain intuitively absorbed in the celestial void. ||7||
ਮਨ ਮਧੇ ਜਾਨੈ ਜੇ ਕੋਇ ॥
man madhē jānai jē kōi .
One who knows the Lord in the mind
ਜੋ ਬੋਲੈ ਸੋ ਆਪੈ ਹੋਇ ॥
jō bōlai sō āpai hōi .
- whatever He says, comes to pass.
ਜੋਤਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਕਰੈ ॥
jōt mantr man asathir karai .
One who firmly implants the Lord's Divine Light, and His Mantra within the mind
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਤਰੈ ॥੮॥੧॥
kah kabīr sō prānī tarai .8.1.
- says Kabeer, such a mortal crosses over to the other side. ||8||1||
