Bhairao, Fifth Mehl:
ਲੇਪੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੋ ਤਿਲ ਕਾ ਮੂਲਿ ॥
lēp n lāgō til kā mūl .
The poison had absolutely no harmful effect.
ਦੁਸਟੁ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੁ ਮੂਆ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਸੂਲ ॥੧॥
dusat brāhaman mūā hōi kai sūl .1.
But the wicked Brahmin died in pain. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਰਾਖੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਆਪਿ ॥
har jan rākhē pārabraham āp .
The Supreme Lord God Himself has saved His humble servant.
ਪਾਪੀ ਮੂਆ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਤਾਪਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pāpī mūā gur paratāp .1. rahāu .
The sinner died through the Power of the Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਅਪਣਾ ਖਸਮੁ ਜਨਿ ਆਪਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
apanā khasam jan āp dhiāiā .
The humble servant of the Lord and Master meditates on Him.
ਇਆਣਾ ਪਾਪੀ ਓਹੁ ਆਪਿ ਪਚਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
iānā pāpī ōh āp pachāiā .2.
He Himself has destroyed the ignorant sinner. ||2||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਅਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥
prabh māt pitā apanē dās kā rakhavālā .
God is the Mother, the Father and the Protector of His slave.
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਾ ਮਾਥਾ ਈਹਾਂ ਊਹਾ ਕਾਲਾ ॥੩॥
nindak kā māthā īhānh ūhā kālā .3.
The face of the slanderer, here and hereafter, is blackened. ||3||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
jan nānak kī paramēsar sunī aradās .
The Transcendent Lord has heard the prayer of servant Nanak.
ਮਲੇਛੁ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਚਿਆ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਰਾਸੁ ॥੪॥੯॥
malēsh pāpī pachiā bhaiā nirās .4.9.
The filthy sinner lost hope and died. ||4||9||
