ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Bhairao, Third Mehl:
ਮਨਸਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਲੈ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥
manasā manah samāi lai gur sabadī vīchār .
The desires of the mind are absorbed in the mind, contemplating the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਵੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰੈ ਨ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰ ॥੧॥
gur pūrē tē sōjhī pavai phir marai n vārō vār .1.
Understanding is obtained from the Perfect Guru, and then the mortal does not die over and over again. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥
man mērē rām nām ādhār .
My mind takes the Support of the Lord's Name.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਭ ਇਛ ਪੁਜਾਵਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur parasād param pad pāiā sabh ish pujāvanahār .1. rahāu .
By Guru's Grace, I have obtained the supreme status; the Lord is the Fulfiller of all desires. ||1||Pause||
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੋ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਬੂਝ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥
sabh mah ēkō rav rahiā gur bin būjh n pāi .
The One Lord is permeating and pervading amongst all; without the Guru, this understanding is not obtained.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ॥੨॥
guramukh pragat hōā mērā har prabh anadin har gun gāi .2.
My Lord God has been revealed to me, and I have become Gurmukh. Night and day, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||2||
ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਹੋਰ ਥੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਹਿ ॥
sukhadātā har ēk hai hōr thai sukh n pāh .
The One Lord is the Giver of peace; peace is not found anywhere else.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਅੰਤਿ ਗਏ ਪਛੁਤਾਹਿ ॥੩॥
satigur jinī n sēviā dātā sē ant gaē pashutāh .3.
Those who do not serve the Giver, the True Guru, depart regretfully in the end. ||3||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਧਾਇ ॥
satigur sēv sadā sukh pāiā phir dukh n lāgai dhāi .
Serving the True Guru, lasting peace is obtained, and the mortal does not suffer in pain any longer.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਈ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੭॥
nānak har bhagat parāpat hōī jōtī jōt samāi .4.7.17.
Nanak has been blessed with devotional worship of the Lord; his light has merged into the Light. ||4||7||17||
