ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਮਧਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
ād ant madh prabh sōī .
God exists in the beginning, in the middle and in the end.
ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
āpē karatā karē s hōī .
Whatever the Creator Lord Himself does, comes to pass.
ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗ ਤੇ ਦਾਲਿਦ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਘਾਲਕਾ ॥੬॥
bhram bhau mitiā sādhasang tē dālid n kōī ghālakā .6.
Doubt and fear are erased, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and then one is not afflicted by deadly pain. ||6||
ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਉ ਗੋੁਪਾਲਾ ॥
ūtam bānī gāu gōpālā .
I sing the most Sublime Bani, the Word of the Lord of the Universe.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਮੰਗਹੁ ਰਵਾਲਾ ॥
sādhasangat kī mangah ravālā .
I beg for the dust of the feet of the Saadh Sangat.
ਬਾਸਨ ਮੇਟਿ ਨਿਬਾਸਨ ਹੋਈਐ ਕਲਮਲ ਸਗਲੇ ਜਾਲਕਾ ॥੭॥
bāsan mēt nibāsan hōīai kalamal sagalē jālakā .7.
Eradicating desire, I have become free of desire; I have burnt away all my sins. ||7||
ਸੰਤਾ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਰੀਤਿ ਨਿਰਾਲੀ ॥
santā kī ih rīt nirālī .
This is the unique way of the Saints;
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਹਿ ਨਾਲੀ ॥
pārabraham kar dēkhah nālī .
they behold the Supreme Lord God with them.
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਆਰਾਧਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਿਉ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਕੀਜੈ ਆਲਕਾ ॥੮॥
sās sās ārādhan har har kiu simarat kījai ālakā .8.
With each and every breath, they worship and adore the Lord, Har, Har. How could anyone be too lazy to meditate on Him? ||8||
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
jah dēkhā tah antarajāmī .
Wherever I look, there I see the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts.
ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਵਿਸਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
nimakh n visarah prabh mērē suāmī .
I never forget God, my Lord and Master, even for an instant.
ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸਾ ਬਨਿ ਜਲਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਥਾਲਕਾ ॥੯॥
simar simar jīvah tērē dāsā ban jal pūran thālakā .9.
Your slaves live by meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord; You are permeating the woods, the water and the land. ||9||
ਤਤੀ ਵਾਉ ਨ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
tatī vāu n tā kau lāgai .
Even the hot wind does not touch one
ਸਿਮਰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥
simarat nām anadin jāgai .
who remains awake in meditative remembrance, night and day.
ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਤਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੦॥
anad binōd karē har simaran tis māiā sang n tālakā .10.
He delights and enjoys meditative remembrance on the Lord; he has no attachment to Maya. ||10||
ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਦੂਖ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
rōg sōg dūkh tis nāhī .
Disease, sorrow and pain do not affect him;
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਗਾਹੀ ॥
sādhasang har kīratan gāhī .
he sings the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਖਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੧॥
āpanā nām dēh prabh prītam sun bēnantī khālakā .11.
Please bless me with Your Name, O my Beloved Lord God; please listen to my prayer, O Creator. ||11||
ਨਾਮ ਰਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥
nām ratan tērā hai piārē .
Your Name is a jewel, O my Beloved Lord.
ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਦਾਸ ਅਪਾਰੇ ॥
rang ratē tērai dās apārē .
Your slaves are imbued with Your Infinite Love.
ਤੇਰੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਤੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਹੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕੇਈ ਭਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੨॥
tērai rang ratē tudh jēhē viralē kēī bhālakā .12.
Those who are imbued with Your Love, become like You; it is so rare that they are found. ||12||
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਧੂੜਿ ਮਾਂਗੈ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
tin kī dhūr mānhgai man mērā .
My mind longs for the dust of the feet of those
ਜਿਨ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਾਹੂ ਬੇਰਾ ॥
jin visarah nāhī kāhū bērā .
who never forget the Lord.
ਤਿਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੩॥
tin kai sang param pad pāī sadā sangī har nālakā .13.
Associating with them, I obtain the supreme status; the Lord, my Companion, is always with me. ||13||
ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਸੋਈ ॥
sājan mīt piārā sōī .
He alone is my beloved friend and companion,
ਏਕੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਈ ॥
ēk drirāē duramat khōī .
who implants the Name of the One Lord within, and eradicates evil-mindedness.
ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਤਜਾਏ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਉਪਦੇਸੁ ਨਿਰਮਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੪॥
kām krōdh ahankār tajāē tis jan kau upadēs niramālakā .14.
Immaculate are the teachings of that humble servant of the Lord, who casts out sexual desire, anger and egotism. ||14||
ਤੁਧੁ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
tudh vin nāhī kōī mērā .
Other than You, O Lord, no one is mine.
ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
mārū mahalā 5 .
Maaroo, Fifth Mehl:
ਗੁਰਿ ਪਕੜਾਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਪੈਰਾ ॥
gur pakarāē prabh kē pairā .
The Guru has led me to grasp the feet of God.
ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਖੰਡਿਆ ਭਰਮੁ ਅਨਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੫॥
hau balihārī satigur pūrē jin khandiā bharam anālakā .15.
I am a sacrifice to the Perfect True Guru, who has destroyed the illusion of duality. ||15||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਸਭ ਊਚ ਬਿਰਾਜੇ ॥
pārabraham sabh ūch birājē .
The Abode of the Supreme Lord God is above all.
ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੇ ਸਾਜੇ ॥
āpē thāp uthāpē sājē .
He Himself establishes, establishes and creates.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹਤ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਿਛੁ ਭਉ ਨ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਬਾਲ ਕਾ ॥੧॥
prabh kī saran gahat sukh pāīai kish bhau n viāpai bāl kā .1.
Holding tight to the Sanctuary of God, peace is found, and one is not afflicted by the fear of Maya. ||1||
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
sās sās prabh bisarai nāhī .
With each and every breath, I never forget God.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਉ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
āth pahar har har kau dhiāī .
Twenty-four hours a day, I meditate on the Lord, Har, Har.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤ ਤੇਰੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤੂ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਵਡਾਲਕਾ ॥੧੬॥੪॥੧੩॥
nānak sant tērai rang rātē tū samarath vadālakā .16.4.13.
O Nanak, the Saints are imbued with Your Love; You are the great and all-powerful Lord. ||16||4||13||
ਗਰਭ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਉਬਾਰਿਆ ॥
garabh agan mah jinah ubāriā .
He saved you from the fire of the womb,
ਰਕਤ ਕਿਰਮ ਮਹਿ ਨਹੀ ਸੰਘਾਰਿਆ ॥
rakat kiram mah nahī sanghāriā .
and did not destroy you, when you were an egg in your mother's ovary.
ਅਪਨਾ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਿਆ ਓਹੁ ਸਗਲ ਘਟਾ ਕਾ ਮਾਲਕਾ ॥੨॥
apanā simaran dē pratipāliā ōh sagal ghatā kā mālakā .2.
Blessing you with meditative remembrance upon Himself, He nurtured you and cherished you; He is the Master of all hearts. ||2||
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਆਇਆ ॥
charan kamal saranāī āiā .
I have come to the Sanctuary of His lotus feet.
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਇਆ ॥
sādhasang hai har jas gāiā .
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I sing the Praises of the Lord.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਸਭਿ ਦੂਖ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਭਉ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਲ ਕਾ ॥੩॥
janam maran sabh dūkh nivārē jap har har bhau nahī kāl kā .3.
I have erased all the pains of birth and death; meditating on the Lord, Har, Har, I have no fear of death. ||3||
ਸਮਰਥ ਅਕਥ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਦੇਵਾ ॥
samarath akath agōchar dēvā .
God is all-powerful, indescribable, unfathomable and divine.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥
jī jant sabh tā kī sēvā .
All beings and creatures serve Him.
ਅੰਡਜ ਜੇਰਜ ਸੇਤਜ ਉਤਭੁਜ ਬਹੁ ਪਰਕਾਰੀ ਪਾਲਕਾ ॥੪॥
andaj jēraj sētaj utabhuj bah parakārī pālakā .4.
In so many ways, He cherishes those born from eggs, from the womb, from sweat and from the earth. ||4||
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ॥
tisah parāpat hōi nidhānā .
He alone obtains this wealth,
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
rām nām ras antar mānā .
who savors and enjoys, deep within his mind, the Name of the Lord.
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਵਿਰਲੇ ਕੇਈ ਸਾਲਕਾ ॥੫॥
kar gah līnē andh kūp tē viralē kēī sālakā .5.
Grasping hold of his arm, God lifts him up and pulls him out of the deep, dark pit. Such a devotee of the Lord is very rare. ||5||
