Maaroo, Ninth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥
har kō nām sadā sukhadāī .
The Name of the Lord is forever the Giver of peace.
ਜਾ ਕਉ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਅਜਾਮਲੁ ਉਧਰਿਓ ਗਨਿਕਾ ਹੂ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jā kau simar ajāmal udhariō ganikā hū gat pāī .1. rahāu .
Meditating in remembrance on it, Ajaamal was saved, and Ganika the prostitute was emancipated. ||1||Pause||
ਪੰਚਾਲੀ ਕਉ ਰਾਜ ਸਭਾ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਧਿ ਆਈ ॥
panchālī kau rāj sabhā mah rām nām sudh āī .
Dropadi the princess of Panchaala remembered the Lord's Name in the royal court.
ਤਾ ਕੋ ਦੂਖੁ ਹਰਿਓ ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਅਪਨੀ ਪੈਜ ਬਢਾਈ ॥੧॥
tā kō dūkh hariō karunā mai apanī paij badhāī .1.
The Lord, the embodiment of mercy, removed her suffering; thus His own glory was increased. ||1||
ਜਿਹ ਨਰ ਜਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਿਧਿ ਗਾਇਓ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਭਇਓ ਸਹਾਈ ॥
jih nar jas kirapā nidh gāiō tā kau bhaiō sahāī .
That man, who sings the Praise of the Lord, the treasure of mercy, has the help and support of the Lord.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮੈ ਇਹੀ ਭਰੋਸੈ ਗਹੀ ਆਨਿ ਸਰਨਾਈ ॥੨॥੧॥
kah nānak mai ihī bharōsai gahī ān saranāī .2.1.
Says Nanak, I have come to rely on this. I seek the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||2||1||
