ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਗੜੁ ਕੋਟੁ ਹੈ ਸਭਿ ਦਿਸੰਤਰ ਦੇਸਾ ॥
kāiā andar gar kōt hai sabh disantar dēsā .
Deep within the body is the fortress of the Lord, and all lands and countries.
ਆਪੇ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਈਅਨੁ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਪਰਵੇਸਾ ॥
āpē tārī lāīan sabh mah paravēsā .
He Himself sits in primal, profound Samaadhi; He Himself is all-pervading.
ਆਪੇ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਸਾਜੀਅਨੁ ਆਪਿ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਰਖੇਸਾ ॥
āpē srisat sājīan āp gupat rakhēsā .
He Himself created the Universe, and He Himself remains hidden within it.
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਪਰਗਟੀਏਸਾ ॥
gur sēvā tē jāniā sach paragatīēsā .
Serving the Guru, the Lord is known, and the Truth is revealed.
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੧੬॥
sabh kish sachō sach hai gur sōjhī pāī .16.
He is True, the Truest of the True; the Guru has imparted this understanding. ||16||

Shalok, Second Mehl:
ਅੰਧੇ ਕੈ ਰਾਹਿ ਦਸਿਐ ਅੰਧਾ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਜਾਇ ॥
andhē kai rāh dasiai andhā hōi s jāi .
He is truly blind, who follows the way shown by the blind man.
ਹੋਇ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਉਝੜਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
hōi sujākhā nānakā sō kiu ujhar pāi .
O Nanak, why should the one who can see, get lost?
ਅੰਧੇ ਏਹਿ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਜਿਨ ਮੁਖਿ ਲੋਇਣ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
andhē ēh n ākhīan jin mukh lōin nāh .
Do not call them blind, who have no eyes in their face.
ਅੰਧੇ ਸੇਈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਖਸਮਹੁ ਘੁਥੇ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
andhē sēī nānakā khasamah ghuthē jāh .1.
They alone are blind, O Nanak, who wander away from their Lord and Master. ||1||

mah 2 .
Second Mehl:
ਸਾਹਿਬਿ ਅੰਧਾ ਜੋ ਕੀਆ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
sāhib andhā jō kīā karē sujākhā hōi .
One whom the Lord has made blind - the Lord can make him see again.
ਜੇਹਾ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੇਹੋ ਵਰਤੈ ਜੇ ਸਉ ਆਖੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
jēhā jānai tēhō varatai jē sau ākhai kōi .
He acts only as he knows, although he may be spoken to a hundred times.
ਜਿਥੈ ਸੁ ਵਸਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਪਈ ਆਪੇ ਵਰਤਉ ਜਾਣਿ ॥
jithai s vasat n jāpaī āpē varatau jān .
Where the real thing is not seen, self-conceit prevails there - know this well.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗਾਹਕੁ ਕਿਉ ਲਏ ਸਕੈ ਨ ਵਸਤੁ ਪਛਾਣਿ ॥੨॥
nānak gāhak kiu laē sakai n vasat pashān .2.
O Nanak, how can the purshaser purchase the real thing, if he cannot recognize it? ||2||

ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਅੰਧਾ ਆਖੀਐ ਜਿ ਹੁਕਮਹੁ ਅੰਧਾ ਹੋਇ ॥
sō kiu andhā ākhīai j hukamah andhā hōi .
How can someone be called blind, if he was made blind by the Lord's Command?
ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੁਝਈ ਅੰਧਾ ਕਹੀਐ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
nānak hukam n bujhaī andhā kahīai sōi .3.
O Nanak, one who does not understand the Hukam of the Lord's Command should be called blind. ||3||
