ਜੋ ਜੋ ਪੀਵੈ ਸੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾਵੈ ॥
jō jō pīvai sō tripatāvai .
Whoever drinks this in, is satisfied.
ਅਮਰੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਮ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
amar hōvai jō nām ras pāvai .
Whoever obtains the Sublime Essence of the Naam becomes immortal.
ਨਾਮ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਨਿ ਵੂਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
nām nidhān tisah parāpat jis sabad gurū man vūthā jīu .2.
The Treasure of the Naam is obtained by one whose mind is filled with the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||2||
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਨਾ ॥
jin har ras pāiā sō tripat aghānā .
One who obtains the Sublime Essence of the Lord is satisfied and fulfilled.
ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਨਾਹਿ ਡੁਲਾਨਾ ॥
jin har sād pāiā sō nāh dulānā .
One who obtains this Flavor of the Lord does not waver.
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਾ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
tisah parāpat har har nāmā jis masatak bhāgīthā jīu .3.
One who has this destiny written on his forehead obtains the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਇਕਸੁ ਹਥਿ ਆਇਆ ਵਰਸਾਣੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ॥
har ikas hath āiā varasānē bahutērē .
The Lord has come into the hands of the One, the Guru, who has blessed so many with good fortune.
ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗਿ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਭਏ ਘਣੇਰੇ ॥
tis lag mukat bhaē ghanērē .
Attached to Him, a great many have been liberated.
ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਿਰਲੀ ਡੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੨॥
nām nidhānā guramukh pāīai kah nānak viralī dīthā jīu .4.15.22.
The Gurmukh obtains the Treasure of the Naam; says Nanak, those who see the Lord are very rare. ||4||15||22||
ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
mājh mahalā 5 .
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਰਮਲੀਆ ॥
anmrit nām sadā niramalīā .
The Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord, is eternally pure.
ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਡਾਰਨ ਹਰੀਆ ॥
sukhadāī dūkh bidāran harīā .
The Lord is the Giver of Peace and the Dispeller of sorrow.
ਅਵਰਿ ਸਾਦ ਚਖਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਦੇਖੇ ਮਨ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਮੀਠਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
avar sād chakh sagalē dēkhē man har ras sabh tē mīthā jīu .1.
I have seen and tasted all other flavors, but to my mind, the Subtle Essence of the Lord is the sweetest of all. ||1||
