ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik ōunkār satigur prasād .
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਚਾਰਿ ਪੁਕਾਰਹਿ ਨਾ ਤੂ ਮਾਨਹਿ ॥
chār pukārah nā tū mānah .
The four Vedas proclaim it, but you don't believe them.
ਖਟੁ ਭੀ ਏਕਾ ਬਾਤ ਵਖਾਨਹਿ ॥
khat bhī ēkā bāt vakhānah .
The six Shaastras also say one thing.
ਦਸ ਅਸਟੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਏਕੋ ਕਹਿਆ ॥
das asatī mil ēkō kahiā .
The eighteen Puraanas all speak of the One God.
ਤਾ ਭੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਲਹਿਆ ॥੧॥
tā bhī jōgī bhēd n lahiā .1.
Even so, Yogi, you do not understand this mystery. ||1||
ਕਿੰਕੁਰੀ ਅਨੂਪ ਵਾਜੈ ॥
kinkurī anūp vājai .
The celestial harp plays the incomparable melody,
ਜੋਗੀਆ ਮਤਵਾਰੋ ਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jōgīā matavārō rē .1. rahāu .
but in your intoxication, you do not hear it, O Yogi. ||1||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਥਮੇ ਵਸਿਆ ਸਤ ਕਾ ਖੇੜਾ ॥
prathamē vasiā sat kā khērā .
In the first age, the Golden Age, the village of truth was inhabited.
ਤ੍ਰਿਤੀਏ ਮਹਿ ਕਿਛੁ ਭਇਆ ਦੁਤੇੜਾ ॥
tritīē mah kish bhaiā dutērā .
In the Silver Age of Traytaa Yuga, things began to decline.
ਦੁਤੀਆ ਅਰਧੋ ਅਰਧਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥
dutīā aradhō aradh samāiā .
In the Brass Age of Dwaapur Yuga, half of it was gone.
ਏਕੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
ēk rahiā tā ēk dikhāiā .2.
Now, only one leg of Truth remains, and the One Lord is revealed. ||2||
ਏਕੈ ਸੂਤਿ ਪਰੋਏ ਮਣੀਏ ॥
ēkai sūt parōē manīē .
The beads are strung upon the one thread.
ਗਾਠੀ ਭਿਨਿ ਭਿਨਿ ਭਿਨਿ ਭਿਨਿ ਤਣੀਏ ॥
gāthī bhin bhin bhin bhin tanīē .
By means of many, various, diverse knots, they are tied, and kept separate on the string.
ਫਿਰਤੀ ਮਾਲਾ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਭਾਇ ॥
phiratī mālā bah bidh bhāi .
The beads of the mala are lovingly chanted upon in many ways.
ਖਿੰਚਿਆ ਸੂਤੁ ਤ ਆਈ ਥਾਇ ॥੩॥
khinchiā sūt t āī thāi .3.
When the thread is pulled out, the beads come together in one place. ||3||
ਚਹੁ ਮਹਿ ਏਕੈ ਮਟੁ ਹੈ ਕੀਆ ॥
chah mah ēkai mat hai kīā .
Throughout the four ages, the One Lord made the body His temple.
ਤਹ ਬਿਖੜੇ ਥਾਨ ਅਨਿਕ ਖਿੜਕੀਆ ॥
tah bikharē thān anik khirakīā .
It is a treacherous place, with several windows.
ਖੋਜਤ ਖੋਜਤ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਆਇਆ ॥
khōjat khōjat duārē āiā .
Searching and searching, one comes to the Lord's door.
ਤਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋਗੀ ਮਹਲੁ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥
tā nānak jōgī mahal ghar pāiā .4.
Then, O Nanak, the Yogi attains a home in the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. ||4||
ਇਉ ਕਿੰਕੁਰੀ ਆਨੂਪ ਵਾਜੈ ॥
iu kinkurī ānūp vājai .
Thus, the celestial harp plays the incomparable melody;
ਸੁਣਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਕੈ ਮਨਿ ਮੀਠੀ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੧॥੧੨॥
sun jōgī kai man mīthī lāgai .1. rahāu dūjā .1.12.
hearing it, the Yogi's mind finds it sweet. ||1||Second Pause||1||12||
