ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
jah dēkhā tah rahiā samāi .3.
Wherever I look, there I see Him pervading. ||3||
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਹਸਾ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਨੈਣੀ ਲਾਗਸਿ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
antar sahasā bāhar māiā nainī lāgas bānī .
There is doubt within me, and Maya is outside; it hits me in the eyes like an arrow.
ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਪਰਤਾਪਹਿਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥੪॥੨॥
pranavat nānak dāsan dāsā paratāpahigā prānī .4.2.
Prays Nanak, the slave of the Lord's slaves: such a mortal suffers terribly. ||4||2||

ਸਰਬ ਜੋਤਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਸਰਿ ਰਹੀ ॥
sarab jōt tērī pasar rahī .
Your Light is prevailing everywhere.
ਜਹ ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਨਰਹਰੀ ॥੧॥
jah jah dēkhā tah naraharī .1.
Wherever I look, there I see the Lord. ||1||
ਜੀਵਨ ਤਲਬ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
jīvan talab nivār suāmī .
Please rid me of the desire to live, O my Lord and Master.
ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਗਾਡਿਆ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਉਤਰਉ ਪਾਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
andh kūp māiā man gādiā kiu kar utarau pār suāmī .1. rahāu .
My mind is entangled in the deep dark pit of Maya. How can I cross over, O Lord and Master? ||1||Pause||
ਜਹ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਘਟ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਬਸਿਆ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕਾਹੇ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
jah bhītar ghat bhītar basiā bāhar kāhē nāhī .
He dwells deep within, inside the heart; how can He not be outside as well?
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਕਰੇ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਦਾ ਚਿੰਤ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥
tin kī sār karē nit sāhib sadā chint man māhī .2.
Our Lord and Master always takes care of us, and keeps us in His thoughts. ||2||
ਆਪੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਆਪੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥
āpē nērai āpē dūr .
He Himself is near at hand, and He is far away.
ਆਪੇ ਸਰਬ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥
āpē sarab rahiā bharapūr .
He Himself is all-pervading, permeating everywhere.
ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਜਾਇ ॥
satagur milai andhērā jāi .
Meeting the True Guru, the darkness is dispelled.
