Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਲੋਕਨ ਕੀਆ ਵਡਿਆਈਆ ਬੈਸੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਗਉ ॥
lōkan kīā vadiāīā baisantar pāgau .
The glories of the world, I cast into the fire.
ਜਿਉ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਆਪਨਾ ਤੇ ਬੋਲ ਕਰਾਗਉ ॥੧॥
jiu milai piārā āpanā tē bōl karāgau .1.
I chant those words, by which I may meet my Beloved. ||1||
ਜਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਉ ਦਇਆਲ ਹੋਇ ਤਉ ਭਗਤੀ ਲਾਗਉ ॥
jau prabh jīu daiāl hōi tau bhagatī lāgau .
When God becomes Merciful, then He enjoins me to His devotional service.
ਲਪਟਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਮਨੁ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਇਹ ਤਿਆਗਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
lapat rahiō man bāsanā gur mil ih tiāgau .1. rahāu .
My mind clings to worldly desires; meeting with the Guru, I have renounced them. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਅਤਿ ਘਨੀ ਇਹੁ ਜੀਉ ਹੋਮਾਗਉ ॥
karau bēnatī at ghanī ih jīu hōmāgau .
I pray with intense devotion, and offer this soul to Him.
ਅਰਥ ਆਨ ਸਭਿ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਨਿਮਖ ਸੋਹਾਗਉ ॥੨॥
arath ān sabh vāriā pri nimakh sōhāgau .2.
I would sacrifice all other riches, for a moment's union with my Beloved. ||2||
ਪੰਚ ਸੰਗੁ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਛੁਟੇ ਦੋਖ ਅਰੁ ਰਾਗਉ ॥
panch sang gur tē shutē dōkh ar rāgau .
Through the Guru, I am rid of the five villains, as well as emotional love and hate.
ਰਿਦੈ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਇਆ ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਜਾਗਉ ॥੩॥
ridai pragās pragat bhaiā nis bāsur jāgau .3.
My heart is illumined, and the Lord has become manifest; night and day, I remain awake and aware. ||3||
ਸਰਣਿ ਸੋਹਾਗਨਿ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗਉ ॥
saran sōhāgan āiā jis masatak bhāgau .
The blessed soul-bride seeks His Sanctuary; her destiny is recorded on her forehead.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲਾਗਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੩੨॥
kah nānak tin pāiā tan man sītalāgau .4.2.32.
Says Nanak, she obtains her Husband Lord; her body and mind are cooled and soothed. ||4||2||32||
