ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
gur pūrā vadabhāgī pāīai .
By great good fortune, the Perfect Guru is found.
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥੧॥
mil sādhū har nām dhiāīai .1.
Meeting with the Holy Saints, meditate on the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥
pārabraham prabh tērī saranā .
O Supreme Lord God, I seek Your Sanctuary.
ਕਿਲਬਿਖ ਕਾਟੈ ਭਜੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kilabikh kātai bhaj gur kē charanā .1. rahāu .
Meditating on the Guru's Feet, sinful mistakes are erased. ||1||Pause||
ਅਵਰਿ ਕਰਮ ਸਭਿ ਲੋਕਾਚਾਰ ॥
avar karam sabh lōkāchār .
All other rituals are just worldly affairs;
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਹੋਇ ਉਧਾਰ ॥੨॥
mil sādhū sang hōi udhār .2.
joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, one is saved. ||2||
ਸਿੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ ਬੇਦ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥
sinmrit sāsat bēd bīchārē .
One may contemplate the Simritees, Shaastras and Vedas,
ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਿਤੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
japīai nām jit pār utārē .3.
but only by chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is one saved and carried across. ||3||
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੀਐ ॥
jan nānak kau prabh kirapā karīai .
Have Mercy upon servant Nanak, O God,
ਸਾਧੂ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਨਿਸਤਰੀਐ ॥੪॥੬॥੧੧॥
sādhū dhūr milai nisatarīai .4.6.11.
and bless him with the dust of the feet of the Holy, that he may be emancipated. ||4||6||11||
