ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ॥
mai man tērī tēk mērē piārē mai man tērī tēk .
You are the Support of my mind, O my Beloved, You are the Support of my mind.
ਅਵਰ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਬਿਰਥੀਆ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਖਨ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਏਕ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
avar siānapā birathīā piārē rākhan kau tum ēk .1. rahāu .
All other clever tricks are useless, O Beloved; You alone are my Protector. ||1||Pause||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਜੇ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਹੋਤ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥
satigur pūrā jē milai piārē sō jan hōt nihālā .
One who meets with the Perfect True Guru, O Beloved, that humble person is enraptured.
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
gur kī sēvā sō karē piārē jis nō hōi daiālā .
He alone serves the Guru, O Beloved, unto whom the Lord becomes merciful.
ਸਫਲ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਭਰਪੂਰੇ ॥
saphal mūrat guradēu suāmī sarab kalā bharapūrē .
Fruitful is the form of the Divine Guru, O Lord and Master; He is overflowing with all powers.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰੇ ॥੧॥
nānak gur pārabraham paramēsar sadā sadā hajūrē .1.
O Nanak, the Guru is the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord; He is ever-present, forever and ever. ||1||
ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸੋਇ ਤਿਨਾ ਕੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਤਾ ॥
sun sun jīvā sōi tinā kī jinh apunā prabh jātā .
I live by hearing, hearing of those who know their God.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ॥
har nām arādhah nām vakhānah har nāmē hī man rātā .
They contemplate the Lord's Name, they chant the Lord's Name, and their minds are imbued with the Lord's Name.
ਸੇਵਕੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਮਾਗੈ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਕਮਾਵਾ ॥
sēvak jan kī sēvā māgai pūrai karam kamāvā .
I am Your servant; I beg to serve Your humble servants. By the karma of perfect destiny, I do this.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਣੁ ਪਾਵਾ ॥੨॥
nānak kī bēnantī suāmī tērē jan dēkhan pāvā .2.
This is Nanak's prayer: O my Lord and Master, may I obtain the Blessed Vision of Your humble servants. ||2||
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸੇ ਕਾਢੀਅਹਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਿਨਾ ਵਾਸੋ ॥
vadabhāgī sē kādhīah piārē santasangat jinā vāsō .
They are said to be very fortunate, O Beloved, who who dwell in the Society of the Saints.
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਰਾਧੀਐ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਨੈ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਗਾਸੋ ॥
anmrit nām arādhīai niramal manai hōvai paragāsō .
They contemplate the Immaculate, Ambrosial Naam, and their minds are illuminated.
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੀਐ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਚੂਕੈ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਕਾਣੇ ॥
janam maran dukh kātīai piārē chūkai jam kī kānē .
The pains of birth and death are eradicated, O Beloved, and the fear of the Messenger of Death is ended.
ਤਿਨਾ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਪਣੇ ਭਾਣੇ ॥੩॥
tinā parāpat darasan nānak jō prabh apanē bhānē .3.
They alone obtain the Blessed Vision of this Darshan, O Nanak, who are pleasing to their God. ||3||
ਊਚ ਅਪਾਰ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਉਣੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਗੁਣ ਤੇਰੇ ॥
ūch apār bēant suāmī kaun jānai gun tērē .
O my lofty, incomparable and infinite Lord and Master, who can know Your Glorious Virtues?
ਗਾਵਤੇ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਸੁਣਤੇ ਉਧਰਹਿ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਪਾਪ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥
gāvatē udharah sunatē udharah binasah pāp ghanērē .
Those who sing them are saved, and those who listen to them are saved; all their sins are erased.
ਪਸੂ ਪਰੇਤ ਮੁਗਧ ਕਉ ਤਾਰੇ ਪਾਹਨ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੈ ॥
pasū parēt mugadh kau tārē pāhan pār utārai .
You save the beasts, demons and fools, and even stones are carried across.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ॥੪॥੧॥੪॥
nānak dās tērī saranāī sadā sadā balihārai .4.1.4.
Slave Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary; he is forever and ever a sacrifice to You. ||4||1||4||
