Bilaaval, Fourth Mehl:
ਹਮਰਾ ਚਿਤੁ ਲੁਭਤ ਮੋਹਿ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਭਰਾ ॥
hamarā chit lubhat mōh bikhiā bah duramat mail bharā .
My consciousness is lured by emotional attachment and corruption; is is filled with evil-minded filth.
ਤੁਮ੍ਹਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਿ ਨ ਸਕਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਮ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਮੁਗਧ ਤਰਾ ॥੧॥
tumharī sēvā kar n sakah prabh ham kiu kar mugadh tarā .1.
I cannot serve You, O God; I am ignorant - how can I cross over? ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪਿ ਨਰਹਰ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਰਹਰਾ ॥
mērē man jap narahar nām naraharā .
O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, the Lord, the Lord of man.
ਜਨ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jan ūpar kirapā prabh dhārī mil satigur pār parā .1. rahāu .
God has showered His Mercy upon His humble servant; meeting with the True Guru, he is carried across. ||1||Pause||
ਹਮਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹਰਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਮਤੀ ਜਸੁ ਕਰਾ ॥
hamarē pitā thākur prabh suāmī har dēh matī jas karā .
O my Father, my Lord and Master, Lord God, please bless me with such understanding, that I may sing Your Praises.
ਤੁਮ੍ਹਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਗੇ ਸੇ ਉਧਰੇ ਜਿਉ ਸੰਗਿ ਕਾਸਟ ਲੋਹ ਤਰਾ ॥੨॥
tumharai sang lagē sē udharē jiu sang kāsat lōh tarā .2.
Those who are attached to You are saved, like iron which is carried across with wood. ||2||
ਸਾਕਤ ਨਰ ਹੋਛੀ ਮਤਿ ਮਧਿਮ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵ ਨ ਕਰਾ ॥
sākat nar hōshī mat madhim jinh har har sēv n karā .
The faithless cynics have little or no understanding; they do not serve the Lord, Har, Har.
ਤੇ ਨਰ ਭਾਗਹੀਨ ਦੁਹਚਾਰੀ ਓਇ ਜਨਮਿ ਮੁਏ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਾ ॥੩॥
tē nar bhāgahīn duhachārī ōi janam muē phir marā .3.
Those beings are unfortunate and vicious; they die, and are consigned to reincarnation, over and over again. ||3||
ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਤੇ ਨ੍ਹਾਏ ਸੰਤੋਖ ਗੁਰ ਸਰਾ ॥
jin kau tumh har mēlah suāmī tē nhāē santōkh gur sarā .
Those whom You unite with Yourself, O Lord and Master, bathe in the Guru's cleansing pool of contentment.
ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਈ ਹਰਿ ਭਜਿਆ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
duramat mail gaī har bhajiā jan nānak pār parā .4.3.
Vibrating upon the Lord, the filth of their evil-mindedness is washed away; servant Nanak is carried across. ||4||3||
