ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Bilaaval, Third Mehl:
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਈ ॥
pūrē gur tē vadiāī pāī .
From the Perfect Guru, I have obtained glorious greatness.
ਅਚਿੰਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਈ ॥
achint nām vasiā man āī .
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, has spontaneously come to abide in my mind.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਲਾਈ ॥
haumai māiā sabad jalāī .
Through the Word of the Shabad, I have burnt away egotism and Maya.
ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥
dar sāchai gur tē sōbhā pāī .1.
Through the Guru, I have obtained honor in the Court of the True Lord. ||1||
ਜਗਦੀਸ ਸੇਵਉ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕਾਜਾ ॥
jagadīs sēvau mai avar n kājā .
I serve the Lord of the Universe; I have no other work to do.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਅਨਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਮਨਿ ਮੇਰੈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਾਗਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਜਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anadin anad hōvai man mērai guramukh māgau tērā nām nivājā .1. rahāu .
Night and day, my mind is in ecstasy; as Gurmukh, I beg for the bliss-giving Naam. ||1||Pause||
ਮਨ ਕੀ ਪਰਤੀਤਿ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ॥
man kī paratīt man tē pāī .
From the mind itself, mental faith is obtained.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
pūrē gur tē sabad bujhāī .
Through the Guru, I have realized the Shabad.
ਜੀਵਣ ਮਰਣੁ ਕੋ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ॥
jīvan maran kō samasar vēkhai .
How rare is that person, who looks upon life and death alike.
ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਮਰੈ ਨਾ ਜਮੁ ਪੇਖੈ ॥੨॥
bahur n marai nā jam pēkhai .2.
She shall never die again, and shall not have to see the Messenger of Death. ||2||
ਘਰ ਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਕੋਟ ਨਿਧਾਨ ॥
ghar hī mah sabh kōt nidhān .
Within the home of the self are all the millions of treasures.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਖਾਏ ਗਇਆ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥
satigur dikhāē gaiā abhimān .
The True Guru has revealed them, and my egotistical pride is gone.
ਸਦ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਧਿਆਨ ॥
sad hī lāgā sahaj dhiān .
I keep my meditation always focused on the Cosmic Lord.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗਾਵੈ ਏਕੋ ਨਾਮ ॥੩॥
anadin gāvai ēkō nām .3.
Night and day, I sing the One Name. ||3||
ਇਸੁ ਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਪਾਈ ॥
is jug mah vadiāī pāī .
I have obtained glorious greatness in this age,
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ॥
pūrē gur tē nām dhiāī .
from the Perfect Guru, meditating on the Naam.
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਾ ਤਹ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
jah dēkhā tah rahiā samāī .
Wherever I look, I see the Lord permeating and pervading.
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਪਾਈ ॥੪॥
sadā sukhadātā kīmat nahī pāī .4.
He is forever the Giver of peace; His worth cannot be estimated. ||4||
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
pūrai bhāg gur pūrā pāiā .
By perfect destiny, I have found the Perfect Guru.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
antar nām nidhān dikhāiā .
He has revealed to me the treasure of the Naam, deep within the nucleus of my self.
ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਤਿ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਇਆ ॥
gur kā sabad at mīthā lāiā .
The Word of the Guru's Shabad is so very sweet.
ਨਾਨਕ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨ ਬੁਝੀ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੫॥੬॥੪॥੬॥੧੦॥
nānak trisan bujhī man tan sukh pāiā .5.6.4.6.10.
O Nanak, my thirst is quenched, and my mind and body have found peace. ||5||6||4||6||10||
