Shalok, Second Mehl:
ਜਿਨਾ ਭਉ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ ਨਾਹਿ ਭਉ ਮੁਚੁ ਭਉ ਨਿਭਵਿਆਹ ॥
jinā bhau tinh nāh bhau much bhau nibhaviāh .
Those who have the Fear of God, have no other fears; those who do not have the Fear of God, are very afraid.
ਨਾਨਕ ਏਹੁ ਪਟੰਤਰਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਦੀਬਾਣਿ ਗਇਆਹ ॥੧॥
nānak ēh patantarā tit dībān gaiāh .1.
O Nanak, this mystery is revealed at the Court of the Lord. ||1||

mah 2 .
Second Mehl:
ਤੁਰਦੇ ਕਉ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਉਡਤੇ ਕਉ ਉਡਤਾ ॥
turadē kau turadā milai udatē kau udatā .
That which flows, mingles with that which flows; that which blows, mingles with that which blows.
ਜੀਵਤੇ ਕਉ ਜੀਵਤਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੂਏ ਕਉ ਮੂਆ ॥
jīvatē kau jīvatā milai mūē kau mūā .
The living mingle with the living, and the dead mingle with the dead.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਸਾਲਾਹੀਐ ਜਿਨਿ ਕਾਰਣੁ ਕੀਆ ॥੨॥
nānak sō sālāhīai jin kāran kīā .2.
O Nanak, praise the One who created the creation. ||2||

Pauree:
ਸਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
sach dhiāin sē sachē gur sabad vīchārī .
Those who meditate on the True Lord are true; they contemplate the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
haumai mār man niramalā har nām ur dhārī .
They subdue their ego, purify their minds, and enshrine the Lord's Name within their hearts.
ਕੋਠੇ ਮੰਡਪ ਮਾੜੀਆ ਲਗਿ ਪਏ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥
kōthē mandap mārīā lag paē gāvārī .
The fools are attached to their homes, mansions and balconies.
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਿ ਕੀਏ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਨ ਜਾਣਨੀ ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਬਾਰੀ ॥
jinh kīē tisah n jānanī manamukh gubārī .
The self-willed manmukhs are caught in darkness; they do not know the One who created them.
ਜਿਸੁ ਬੁਝਾਇਹਿ ਸੋ ਬੁਝਸੀ ਸਚਿਆ ਕਿਆ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੮॥
jis bujhāih sō bujhasī sachiā kiā jant vichārī .8.
He alone understands, whom the True Lord causes to understand; what can the helpless creatures do? ||8||
