ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਜਿਆ ॥੫॥
āpē thāp uthāp sabad nivājiā .5.
You Yourself establish and disestablish; through the Word of Your Shabad, You elevate and exalt. ||5||
ਦੇਹੀ ਭਸਮ ਰੁਲਾਇ ਨ ਜਾਪੀ ਕਹ ਗਇਆ ॥
dēhī bhasam rulāi n jāpī kah gaiā .
When the body rolls in the dust, it is not known where the soul has gone.
ਆਪੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ਸੋ ਵਿਸਮਾਦੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੬॥
āpē rahiā samāi sō visamād bhaiā .6.
He Himself is permeating and pervading; this is wonderful and amazing! ||6||
ਤੂੰ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੂਰਿ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਸਭ ਤੂ ਹੈ ॥
tūn nāhī prabh dūr jānah sabh tū hai .
You are not far away, God; You know everything.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਖਿ ਹਦੂਰਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਭੀ ਤੂ ਹੈ ॥੭॥
guramukh vēkh hadūr antar bhī tū hai .7.
The Gurmukh sees You ever-present; You are deep within the nucleus of our inner self. ||7||
ਮੈ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
mai dījai nām nivās antar sānht hōi .
Please, bless me with a home in Your Name; may my inner self be at peace.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਤਿ ਦੇਇ ॥੮॥੩॥੫॥
gun gāvai nānak dās satigur mat dēi .8.3.5.
May slave Nanak sing Your Glorious Praises; O True Guru, please share the Teachings with me. ||8||3||5||

Soohee, First Mehl:
ਮਨਹੁ ਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
manah n nām visār ahinis dhiāīai .
Never forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord, from your mind; night and day, meditate on it.
ਜਿਉ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ਤਿਵੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
jiu rākhah kirapā dhār tivai sukh pāīai .1.
As You keep me, in Your Merciful Grace, so do I find peace. ||1||
ਮੈ ਅੰਧੁਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਲਕੁਟੀ ਟੋਹਣੀ ॥
mai andhulē har nām lakutī tōhanī .
I am blind, and the Lord's Name is my cane.
ਰਹਉ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੀ ਟੇਕ ਨ ਮੋਹੈ ਮੋਹਣੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rahau sāhib kī tēk n mōhai mōhanī .1. rahāu .
I remain under the Sheltering Support of my Lord and Master; I am not enticed by Maya the enticer. ||1||Pause||
ਜਹ ਦੇਖਉ ਤਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਦੇਖਾਲਿਆ ॥
jah dēkhau tah nāl gur dēkhāliā .
Wherever I look, there the Guru has shown me that God is always with me.
ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਭਾਲਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ ॥੨॥
antar bāhar bhāl sabad nihāliā .2.
Searching inwardly and outwardly as well, I came to see Him, through the Word of the Shabad. ||2||
ਸੇਵੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨਾ ॥
sēvī satigur bhāi nām niranjanā .
So serve the True Guru with love, through the Immaculate Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਰਜਾਇ ਭਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨਾ ॥੩॥
tudh bhāvai tivai rajāi bharam bhau bhanjanā .3.
As it pleases You, so by Your Will, You destroy my doubts and fears. ||3||
ਜਨਮਤ ਹੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਮਰਣਾ ਆਇ ਕੈ ॥
janamat hī dukh lāgai maranā āi kai .
At the very moment of birth, he is afflicted with pain, and in the end, he comes only to die.
ਜਨਮੁ ਮਰਣੁ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇ ਕੈ ॥੪॥
janam maran paravān har gun gāi kai .4.
Birth and death are validated and approved, singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||
ਹਉ ਨਾਹੀ ਤੂ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤੁਧ ਹੀ ਸਾਜਿਆ ॥
hau nāhī tū hōvah tudh hī sājiā .
When there is no ego, there You are; You fashioned all of this.
