Soohee, Fifth Mehl:
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ॥
gur paramēsar karanaihār .
The Guru is the Transcendent Lord, the Creator Lord.
ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਉ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
sagal srisat kau dē ādhār .1.
He gives His Support to the entire Universe. ||1||
ਗੁਰ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਮਨ ਧਿਆਇ ॥
gur kē charan kamal man dhiāi .
Meditate within your mind on the Lotus Feet of the Guru.
ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਇਸੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dūkh darad is tan tē jāi .1. rahāu .
Pain and suffering shall leave this body. ||1||Pause||
ਭਵਜਲਿ ਡੂਬਤ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਕਾਢੈ ॥
bhavajal dūbat satigur kādhai .
The True Guru saves the drowning being from the terrifying world-ocean.
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਟੂਟਾ ਗਾਢੈ ॥੨॥
janam janam kā tūtā gādhai .2.
He reunites those who were separated for countless incarnations. ||2||
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
gur kī sēvā karah din rāt .
Serve the Guru, day and night.
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਮਨਿ ਆਵੈ ਸਾਂਤਿ ॥੩॥
sūkh sahaj man āvai sānht .3.
Your mind shall come to have peace, pleasure and poise. ||3||
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਰੇਣੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
satigur kī rēn vadabhāgī pāvai .
By great good fortune, one obtains the dust of the feet of the True Guru.
ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰ ਕਉ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੨॥
nānak gur kau sad bal jāvai .4.16.22.
Nanak is forever a sacrifice to the True Guru. ||4||16||22||
