ਤੀਨਿ ਛੰਦੇ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਛੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਕੁੰਭਾਰ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਹਾਂਡੀ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਸਾਂਡੀ ਗੋ ॥
kunbhār kē ghar hānhdī āshai rājā kē ghar sānhdī gō .
In the potter's home there are pots, and in the king's home there are camels.
ਬਾਮਨ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਰਾਂਡੀ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਂਡੀ ਸਾਂਡੀ ਹਾਂਡੀ ਗੋ ॥੧॥
bāman kē ghar rānhdī āshai rānhdī sānhdī hānhdī gō .1.
In the Brahmin's home there are widows. So here they are: haandee, saandee, raandee. ||1||
ਬਾਣੀਏ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਹੀਂਗੁ ਆਛੈ ਭੈਸਰ ਮਾਥੈ ਸੀਂਗੁ ਗੋ ॥
bānīē kē ghar hīnhg āshai bhaisar māthai sīnhg gō .
In the home of the grocer there is asafoetida; on the forehead of the buffalo there are horns.
ਦੇਵਲ ਮਧੇ ਲੀਗੁ ਆਛੈ ਲੀਗੁ ਸੀਗੁ ਹੀਗੁ ਗੋ ॥੨॥
dēval madhē līg āshai līg sīg hīg gō .2.
In the temple of Shiva there are lingams. So here they are: heeng, seeng, leeng. ||2||
ਤੇਲੀ ਕੈ ਘਰ ਤੇਲੁ ਆਛੈ ਜੰਗਲ ਮਧੇ ਬੇਲ ਗੋ ॥
tēlī kai ghar tēl āshai jangal madhē bēl gō .
In the house of the oil-presser there is oil; in the forest there are vines.
ਮਾਲੀ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਕੇਲ ਆਛੈ ਕੇਲ ਬੇਲ ਤੇਲ ਗੋ ॥੩॥
mālī kē ghar kēl āshai kēl bēl tēl gō .3.
In the gardener's home there are bananas. So here they are: tayl, bayl, kayl. ||3||
ਸੰਤਾਂ ਮਧੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਆਛੈ ਗੋਕਲ ਮਧੇ ਸਿਆਮ ਗੋ ॥
santānh madhē gōbind āshai gōkal madhē siām gō .
The Lord of the Universe, Govind, is within His Saints; Krishna, Shyaam, is in Gokal.
ਨਾਮੇ ਮਧੇ ਰਾਮੁ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਆਮ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋ ॥੪॥੩॥
nāmē madhē rām āshai rām siām gōbind gō .4.3.
The Lord, Raam, is in Naam Dayv. So here they are: Raam, Shyaam, Govind. ||4||3||
