ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਾਧਾਰੈ ॥
prabh jī kō nām manah sādhārai .
The Naam, the Name of the Dear Lord, is the Support of my mind.
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਸੂਖ ਇਸੁ ਮਨ ਕਉ ਬਰਤਨਿ ਏਹ ਹਮਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jī prān sūkh is man kau baratan ēh hamārai .1. rahāu .
It is my life, my breath of life, my peace of mind; for me, it is an article of daily use. ||1||Pause||
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਤਿ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਪਰਵਾਰੈ ॥
nām jāt nām mērī pat hai nām mērai paravārai .
The Naam is my social status, the Naam is my honor; the Naam is my family.
ਨਾਮੁ ਸਖਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
nām sakhāī sadā mērai sang har nām mō kau nisatārai .1.
The Naam is my companion; it is always with me. The Lord's Name is my emancipation. ||1||
ਬਿਖੈ ਬਿਲਾਸ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੇ ਚਲਤ ਨ ਕਛੂ ਸੰਗਾਰੈ ॥
bikhai bilās kahīat bahutērē chalat n kashū sangārai .
Sensual pleasures are talked about a lot, but none of them goes along with anyone in the end.
ਇਸਟੁ ਮੀਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੋ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੇਰੈ ਭੰਡਾਰੈ ॥੨॥੨॥੭॥
isat mīt nām nānak kō har nām mērai bhandārai .2.2.7.
The Naam is Nanak's dearest friend; the Lord's Name is my treasure. ||2||2||7||
