Shalok:
ਪਤਿਤ ਪੁਨੀਤ ਗੋਬਿੰਦਹ ਸਰਬ ਦੋਖ ਨਿਵਾਰਣਹ ॥
patit punīt gōbindah sarab dōkh nivāranah .
The Lord of the Universe is the Purifier of sinners; He is the Dispeller of all distress.
ਸਰਣਿ ਸੂਰ ਭਗਵਾਨਹ ਜਪੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ॥੧॥
saran sūr bhagavānah japant nānak har har harē .1.
The Lord God is Mighty, giving His Protective Sanctuary; Nanak chants the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਛਡਿਓ ਹਭੁ ਆਪੁ ਲਗੜੋ ਚਰਣਾ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
shadiō habh āp lagarō charanā pās .
Renouncing all self-conceit, I hold tight to the Lord's Feet.
ਨਠੜੋ ਦੁਖ ਤਾਪੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪੇਖੰਦਿਆ ॥੨॥
natharō dukh tāp nānak prabh pēkhandiā .2.
My sorrows and troubles have departed, O Nanak, beholding God. ||2||

Pauree:
ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਢਹਿ ਪਏ ਦੁਆਰਿਆ ॥
mēl laih daiāl dhah paē duāriā .
Unite with me, O Merciful Lord; I have fallen at Your Door.
ਰਖਿ ਲੇਵਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਭ੍ਰਮਤ ਬਹੁ ਹਾਰਿਆ ॥
rakh lēvah dīn daiāl bhramat bah hāriā .
O Merciful to the meek, save me. I have wandered enough; now I am tired.
ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਹਰਿ ਪਤਿਤ ਉਧਾਰਿਆ ॥
bhagat vashal tērā birad har patit udhāriā .
It is Your very nature to love Your devotees, and save sinners.
ਤੁਝ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋਇ ਬਿਨਉ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਾਰਿਆ ॥
tujh bin nāhī kōi binau mōh sāriā .
Without You, there is no other at all; I offer this prayer to You.
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰਿਆ ॥੧੬॥
kar gah lēh daiāl sāgar sansāriā .16.
Take me by the hand, O Merciful Lord, and carry me across the world-ocean. ||16||
