ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ik ōunkār satigur prasād .
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਛੋਡਿ ਜਾਹਿ ਸੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਪਰਾਲ ॥
shōd jāh sē karah parāl .
You shall have to abandon the straw which you have collected.
ਕਾਮਿ ਨ ਆਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥
kām n āvah sē janjāl .
These entanglements shall be of no use to you.
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਹਿ ਤਿਨ ਸਿਉ ਹੀਤ ॥
sang n chālah tin siu hīt .
You are in love with those things that will not go with you.
ਜੋ ਬੈਰਾਈ ਸੇਈ ਮੀਤ ॥੧॥
jō bairāī sēī mīt .1.
You think that your enemies are friends. ||1||
ਐਸੇ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
aisē bharam bhulē sansārā .
In such confusion, the world has gone astray.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਖੋਇ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
janam padārath khōi gavārā . rahāu .
The foolish mortal wastes this precious human life. ||Pause||
ਸਾਚੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਨਹੀ ਭਾਵੈ ਡੀਠਾ ॥
sāch dharam nahī bhāvai dīthā .
He does not like to see Truth and righteousness.
ਝੂਠ ਧੋਹ ਸਿਉ ਰਚਿਓ ਮੀਠਾ ॥
jhūth dhōh siu rachiō mīthā .
He is attached to falsehood and deception; they seem sweet to him.
ਦਾਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਵਿਸਰਿਆ ਦਾਤਾਰਾ ॥
dāt piārī visariā dātārā .
He loves gifts, but he forgets the Giver.
ਜਾਣੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਰਣੁ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
jānai nāhī maran vichārā .2.
The wretched creature does not even think of death. ||2||
ਵਸਤੁ ਪਰਾਈ ਕਉ ਉਠਿ ਰੋਵੈ ॥
vasat parāī kau uth rōvai .
He cries for the possessions of others.
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਸਗਲਾ ਈ ਖੋਵੈ ॥
karam dharam sagalā ī khōvai .
He forfeits all the merits of his good deeds and religion.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੇ ॥
hukam n būjhai āvan jānē .
He does not understand the Hukam of the Lord's Command, and so he continues coming and going in reincarnation.
ਪਾਪ ਕਰੈ ਤਾ ਪਛੋਤਾਣੇ ॥੩॥
pāp karai tā pashōtānē .3.
He sins, and then regrets and repents. ||3||
ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥
jō tudh bhāvai sō paravān .
Whatever pleases You, Lord, that alone is acceptable.
ਤੇਰੇ ਭਾਣੇ ਨੋ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥
tērē bhānē nō kurabān .
I am a sacrifice to Your Will.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਗਰੀਬੁ ਬੰਦਾ ਜਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
nānak garīb bandā jan tērā .
Poor Nanak is Your slave, Your humble servant.
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਇ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੨੨॥
rākh lēi sāhib prabh mērā .4.1.22.
Save me, O my Lord God Master! ||4||1||22||
