ਇਕ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਲਹੀਐ ॥
ik basat agōchar lahīai .
to find the incomprehensible thing.
ਬਸਤੁ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਪਾਈ ॥
basat agōchar pāī .
I have found this incomprehensible thing;
ਘਟਿ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੨॥
ghat dīpak rahiā samāī .2.
my mind is illuminated and enlightened. ||2||
ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਅਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥
kah kabīr ab jāniā .
Says Kabeer, now I know Him;
ਜਬ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਤਉ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥
jab jāniā tau man māniā .
since I know Him, my mind is pleased and appeased.
ਮਨ ਮਾਨੇ ਲੋਗੁ ਨ ਪਤੀਜੈ ॥
man mānē lōg n patījai .
My mind is pleased and appeased, and yet, people do not believe it.
ਨ ਪਤੀਜੈ ਤਉ ਕਿਆ ਕੀਜੈ ॥੩॥੭॥
n patījai tau kiā kījai .3.7.
They do not believe it, so what can I do? ||3||7||
ਕਿਆ ਪੜੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਗੁਨੀਐ ॥
kiā parīai kiā gunīai .
What use is it to read, and what use is it to study?
ਕਿਆ ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨਾਂ ਸੁਨੀਐ ॥
kiā bēd purānānh sunīai .
What use is it to listen to the Vedas and the Puraanas?
ਪੜੇ ਸੁਨੇ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਈ ॥
parē sunē kiā hōī .
What use is reading and listening,
ਜਉ ਸਹਜ ਨ ਮਿਲਿਓ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥
jau sahaj n miliō sōī .1.
if celestial peace is not attained? ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਜਪਸਿ ਗਵਾਰਾ ॥
har kā nām n japas gavārā .
The fool does not chant the Name of the Lord.
ਕਿਆ ਸੋਚਹਿ ਬਾਰੰ ਬਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kiā sōchah bāran bārā .1. rahāu .
So what does he think of, over and over again? ||1||Pause||
ਅੰਧਿਆਰੇ ਦੀਪਕੁ ਚਹੀਐ ॥
