ਪਿਰ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥
pir kī sār n jānaī dūjai bhāi piār .
She does not know the value of her Husband Lord; she is attached to the love of duality.
ਸਾ ਕੁਸੁਧ ਸਾ ਕੁਲਖਣੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਰੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਕੁਨਾਰਿ ॥੨॥
sā kusudh sā kulakhanī nānak nārī vich kunār .2.
She is impure, and ill-mannered, O Nanak; among women, she is the most evil woman. ||2||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅਪਣੀ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬੋਲੀ ਬੈਣੀ ॥
har har apanī daiā kar har bōlī bainī .
Be kind to me, Lord, that I might chant the Word of Your Bani.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਈ ਹਰਿ ਉਚਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਲੈਣੀ ॥
har nām dhiāī har ucharā har lāhā lainī .
May I meditate on the Lord's Name, chant the Lord's Name, and obtain the profit of the Lord's Name.
ਜੋ ਜਪਦੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰਾਤਿ ਤਿਨ ਹਉ ਕੁਰਬੈਣੀ ॥
jō japadē har har dinas rāt tin hau kurabainī .
I am a sacrifice to those who chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, day and night.
ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਅਰਾਧਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਜਨ ਦੇਖਾ ਨੈਣੀ ॥
jinā satigur mērā piārā arādhiā tin jan dēkhā nainī .
May I behold with my eyes those who worship and adore my Beloved True Guru.
ਹਉ ਵਾਰਿਆ ਅਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਕਉ ਜਿਨਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਜਣੁ ਮੇਲਿਆ ਸੈਣੀ ॥੨੪॥
hau vāriā apanē gurū kau jin mērā har sajan mēliā sainī .24.
I am a sacrifice to my Guru, who has united me with my Lord, my friend, my very best friend. ||24||

Shalok, Third Mehl:
ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਲਗੈ ਆਇ ॥
gur sēvā tē sukh ūpajai phir dukh n lagai āi .
Serving the Guru, peace is produced, and then, one does not suffer in pain.
ਜੰਮਣੁ ਮਰਣਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ਕਾਲੈ ਕਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨ ਬਸਾਇ ॥
janman maranā mit gaiā kālai kā kish n basāi .
The cycle of birth and death is brought to an end, and death has no power over at all.
ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਚੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥
har sētī man rav rahiā sachē rahiā samāi .
His mind is imbued with the Lord, and he remains merged in the True Lord.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹਉ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਤਿੰਨ ਕਉ ਜੋ ਚਲਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭਾਇ ॥੧॥
nānak hau balihārī tinn kau jō chalan satigur bhāi .1.
O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to those who walk in the Way of the True Guru's Will. ||1||

Third Mehl:
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਸੁਧੁ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਜੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਕਰੈ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥
bin sabadai sudh n hōvaī jē anēk karai sīgār .
Without the Word of the Shabad, purity is not obtained, even though the soul-bride may adorn herself with all sorts of decorations.
