ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਨਿਬਾਹੀ ਪੂਰੀ ॥
pārabraham nibāhī pūrī .
The Supreme Lord God has stood by me and fulfilled me,
ਕਾਈ ਬਾਤ ਨ ਰਹੀਆ ਊਰੀ ॥
kāī bāt n rahīā ūrī .
and nothing is left unfinished.
ਗੁਰਿ ਚਰਨ ਲਾਇ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ ॥
gur charan lāi nisatārē .
Attached to the Guru's feet, I am saved;
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
har har nām samhārē .1.
I contemplate and cherish the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||
ਅਪਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਾ ਸਦਾ ਰਖਵਾਲਾ ॥
apanē dās kā sadā rakhavālā .
He is forever the Savior of His slaves.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਜਿਉ ਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kar kirapā apunē kar rākhē māt pitā jiu pālā .1. rahāu .
Bestowing His Mercy, He made me His own and preserved me; like a mother or father, He cherishes me. ||1||Pause||
ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
vadabhāgī satigur pāiā .
By great good fortune, I found the True Guru,
ਜਿਨਿ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ॥
jin jam kā panth mitāiā .
who obliterated the path of the Messenger of Death.
ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਇ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
har bhagat bhāi chit lāgā .
My consciousness is focused on loving, devotional worship of the Lord.
ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗਾ ॥੨॥
jap jīvah sē vadabhāgā .2.
One who lives in this meditation is very fortunate indeed. ||2||
ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਗਾਵੈ ॥
har anmrit bānī gāvai .
He sings the Ambrosial Word of the Guru's Bani,
ਸਾਧਾ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੀ ਨਾਵੈ ॥
sādhā kī dhūrī nāvai .
and bathes in the dust of the feet of the Holy.
ਅਪੁਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਆਪੇ ਦੀਆ ॥
apunā nām āpē dīā .
He Himself bestows His Name.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣਹਾਰ ਰਖਿ ਲੀਆ ॥੩॥
prabh karanahār rakh līā .3.
God, the Creator, saves us. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰਾ ॥
har darasan prān adhārā .
The Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan is the support of the breath of life.
ਇਹੁ ਪੂਰਨ ਬਿਮਲ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
ih pūran bimal bīchārā .
This is the perfect, pure wisdom.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥
kar kirapā antarajāmī .
The Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts, has granted His Mercy;
ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥੪॥੮॥੫੮॥
dās nānak saran suāmī .4.8.58.
slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master. ||4||8||58||
