ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਲੋਭ ਝੂਠ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਇਨ ਤੇ ਆਪਿ ਛਡਾਵਹੁ ॥
kām krōdh lōbh jhūth nindā in tē āp shadāvah .
Sexual desire, anger, greed, falsehood and slander - please, save me from these, O Lord.
ਇਹ ਭੀਤਰ ਤੇ ਇਨ ਕਉ ਡਾਰਹੁ ਆਪਨ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਬੁਲਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥
ih bhītar tē in kau dārah āpan nikat bulāvah .1.
Please eradicate these from within me, and call me to come close to You. ||1||
ਅਪੁਨੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਆਪਿ ਜਨਾਵਹੁ ॥
apunī bidh āp janāvah .
You alone teach me Your Ways.
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har jan mangal gāvah .1. rahāu .
With the Lord's humble servants, I sing His Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਬਿਸਰੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਬਹੂ ਹੀਏ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥
bisar nāhī kabahū hīē tē ih bidh man mah pāvah .
May I never forget the Lord within my heart; please, instill such understanding within my mind.
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਤਹਿ ਨ ਧਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥੩॥੩੧॥
gur pūrā bhētiō vadabhāgī jan nānak katah n dhāvah .2.3.31.
By great good fortune, servant Nanak has met with the Perfect Guru, and now, he will not go anywhere else. ||2||3||31||
