ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੧ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl, First House:
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਤੂ ਕਰਤੇ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਤੈਂ ਆਸ ਪੁਜਾਈ ॥
jā kai hiradai vasiā tū karatē tā kī tainh ās pujāī .
O Creator Lord, You fulfill the desires of those, within whose heart You abide.
ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਤੂ ਵਿਸਰਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਚਰਣ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈ ॥੧॥
dās apunē kau tū visarah nāhī charan dhūr man bhāī .1.
Your slaves do not forget You; the dust of Your feet is pleasing to their minds. ||1||
ਤੇਰੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਕਥਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥
tērī akath kathā kathan n jāī .
Your Unspoken Speech cannot be spoken.
ਗੁਣ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਬਡਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gun nidhān sukhadātē suāmī sabh tē ūch badāī . rahāu .
O treasure of excellence, Giver of peace, Lord and Master, Your greatness is the highest of all. ||Pause||
ਸੋ ਸੋ ਕਰਮ ਕਰਤ ਹੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਜੈਸੀ ਤੁਮ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
sō sō karam karat hai prānī jaisī tum likh pāī .
The mortal does those deeds, and those alone, which You ordained by destiny.
ਸੇਵਕ ਕਉ ਤੁਮ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੀਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਅਘਾਈ ॥੨॥
sēvak kau tum sēvā dīnī darasan dēkh aghāī .2.
Your servant, whom You bless with Your service, is satisfied and fulfilled, beholding the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||2||
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਤੁਮਹਿ ਸਮਾਨੇ ਜਾ ਕਉ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥
sarab nirantar tumah samānē jā kau tudh āp bujhāī .
You are contained in all, but he alone realizes this, whom You bless with understanding.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਮਿਟਿਓ ਅਗਿਆਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਠਾਈ ॥੩॥
gur parasād mitiō agiānā pragat bhaē sabh thāī .3.
By Guru's Grace, his spiritual ignorance is dispelled, and he is respected everywhere. ||3||
ਸੋਈ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਸੋਈ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਸੋਈ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਭਾਈ ॥
sōī giānī sōī dhiānī sōī purakh subhāī .
He alone is spiritually enlightened, he alone is a meditator, and he alone is a man of good nature.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਭਏ ਦਇਆਲਾ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਮਨ ਤੇ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੪॥੮॥
kah nānak jis bhaē daiālā tā kau man tē bisar n jāī .4.8.
Says Nanak, one unto whom the Lord becomes Merciful, does not forget the Lord from his mind. ||4||8||
