ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੁਖੀਏ ਕਉ ਪੇਖੈ ਸਭ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਰੋਗੀ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਭ ਰੋਗੀ ॥
sukhīē kau pēkhai sabh sukhīā rōgī kai bhānai sabh rōgī .
To the happy person, everyone seems happy; to the sick person, everyone seems sick.
ਕਰਣ ਕਰਾਵਨਹਾਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਆਪਨ ਹਾਥਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ॥੧॥
karan karāvanahār suāmī āpan hāth sanjōgī .1.
The Lord and Master acts, and causes us to act; union is in His Hands. ||1||
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਨਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਭਰਮੁ ਗਵਾਤਾ ॥ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਭੂਲਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਗਲੋ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
man mērē jin apunā bharam gavātā . tis kai bhānai kōi n bhūlā jin sagalō braham pashātā . rahāu .
O my mind, no one appears to be mistaken, to one who has dispelled his own doubts; he realizes that everyone is God. ||Pause||
ਸੰਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਓਹੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਠਾਂਢੀ ॥
sant sang jā kā man sītal ōh jānai sagalī thānhdhī .
One whose mind is comforted in the Society of the Saints, believes that all are joyful.
ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗਿ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਆਪਿਤ ਓਹੁ ਜਨਮਿ ਮਰੈ ਬਿਲਲਾਤੀ ॥੨॥
haumai rōg jā kā man biāpit ōh janam marai bilalātī .2.
One whose mind is afflicted by the disease of egotism, cries out in birth and death. ||2||
ਗਿਆਨ ਅੰਜਨੁ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਨੇਤ੍ਰੀ ਪੜਿਆ ਤਾ ਕਉ ਸਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ॥
giān anjan jā kī nētrī pariā tā kau sarab pragāsā .
Everything is clear to one whose eyes are blessed with the ointment of spiritual wisdom.
ਅਗਿਆਨਿ ਅੰਧੇਰੈ ਸੂਝਸਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਭਰਮਾਤਾ ॥੩॥
agiān andhērai sūjhas nāhī bahur bahur bharamātā .3.
In the darkness of spiritual ignorance, he sees nothing at all; he wanders around in reincarnation, over and over again. ||3||
ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਇਹੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਮਾਗੈ ॥
sun bēnantī suāmī apunē nānak ih sukh māgai .
Hear my prayer, O Lord and Master; Nanak begs for this happiness:
ਜਹ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਧੂ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਤਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੪॥੬॥
jah kīratan tērā sādhū gāvah tah mērā man lāgai .4.6.
whereever Your Holy Saints sing the Kirtan of Your Praises, let my mind be attached to that place. ||4||6||
