ਰਤਨੁ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ਲੂਕੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਰਖੈ ਲੁਕਾਈ ॥੪॥
ratan lukāiā lūkai nāhī jē kō rakhai lukāī .4.
The jewel is concealed, but it is not concealed, even though one may try to conceal it. ||4||
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਤੂ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥
sabh kish tērā tū antarajāmī tū sabhanā kā prabh sōī .
Everything is Yours, O Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts; You are the Lord God of all.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੫॥੯॥
jis nō dāt karah sō pāē jan nānak avar n kōī .5.9.
He alone receives the gift, unto whom You give it; O servant Nanak, there is no one else. ||5||9||
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਪੰਚਪਦਾ ॥
sōrath mahalā 4 panchapadā .
Sorat'h, Fourth Mehl, Panch-Padas:
ਅਚਰੁ ਚਰੈ ਤਾ ਸਿਧਿ ਹੋਈ ਸਿਧੀ ਤੇ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
achar charai tā sidh hōī sidhī tē budh pāī .
If one eats the uneatable, then he becomes a Siddha, a being of perfect spirituality; through this perfection, he obtains wisdom.
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੇ ਸਰ ਲਾਗੇ ਤਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਤਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
prēm kē sar lāgē tan bhītar tā bhram kātiā jāī .1.
When the arrow of the Lord's Love pierces his body, then his doubt is eradicated. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਦੇਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
mērē gōbid apunē jan kau dēh vadiāī .
O my Lord of the Universe, please bless Your humble servant with glory.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਹੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
guramat rām nām paragāsah sadā rahah saranāī . rahāu .
Under Guru's Instructions, enlighten me with the Lord's Name, that I may dwell forever in Your Sanctuary. ||Pause||
ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਚੇਤਿ ਅਜਾਣਾ ॥
ih sansār sabh āvan jānā man mūrakh chēt ajānā .
This whole world is engrossed in coming and going; O my foolish and ignorant mind, be mindful of the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥੨॥
har jīu kripā karah gur mēlah tā har nām samānā .2.
O Dear Lord, please, take pity upon me, and unite me with the Guru, that I may merge in the Lord's Name. ||2||
ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਵਥੁ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦੇਇ ਸੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ ਵਸਤੁ ਅਨੂਪ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਏ ॥੩॥
jis kī vath sōī prabh jānai jis nō dēi s pāē . vasat anūp at agam agōchar gur pūrā alakh lakhāē .3.
Only one who has it knows God; he alone has it, to whom God has given it - so very beautiful, unapproachable and unfathomable. Through the Perfect Guru, the unknowable is known. ||3||
ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹ ਚਾਖੀ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਕੀ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ ॥
jin ih chākhī sōī jānai gūngē kī mithiāī .
Only one who tastes it knows it, like the mute, who tastes the sweet candy, but cannot speak of it.
