ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Sorat'h, Third Mehl:
ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਏ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥
dāsan dās hōvai tā har pāē vichah āp gavāī .
If one becomes the slave of the Lord's slaves, then he finds the Lord, and eradicates ego from within.
ਭਗਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈ ॥
bhagatā kā kāraj har anand hai anadin har gun gāī .
The Lord of bliss is his object of devotion; night and day, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੇ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੧॥
sabad ratē sadā ik rangī har siu rahē samāī .1.
Attuned to the Word of the Shabad, the Lord's devotees remain ever as one, absorbed in the Lord. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਾਚੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
har jīu sāchī nadar tumārī .
O Dear Lord, Your Glance of Grace is True.
ਆਪਣਿਆ ਦਾਸਾ ਨੋ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਪੈਜ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
āpaniā dāsā nō kripā kar piārē rākhah paij hamārī . rahāu .
Show mercy to Your slave, O Beloved Lord, and preserve my honor. ||Pause||
ਸਬਦਿ ਸਲਾਹੀ ਸਦਾ ਹਉ ਜੀਵਾ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਭਉ ਭਾਗਾ ॥
sabad salāhī sadā hau jīvā guramatī bhau bhāgā .
Continually praising the Word of the Shabad, I live; under Guru's Instruction, my fear has been dispelled.
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਅਤਿ ਸੁਆਲਿਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
mērā prabh sāchā at suāliu gur sēviā chit lāgā .
My True Lord God is so beautiful! Serving the Guru, my consciousness is focused on Him.
ਸਾਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੀ ਸਚੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਜਾਗਾ ॥੨॥
sāchā sabad sachī sach bānī sō jan anadin jāgā .2.
One who chants the True Word of the Shabad, and the Truest of the True, the Word of His Bani, remains wakeful, day and night. ||2||
ਮਹਾ ਗੰਭੀਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
mahā ganbhīr sadā sukhadātā tis kā ant n pāiā .
He is so very deep and profound, the Giver of eternal peace; no one can find His limit.
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕੀਨੀ ਅਚਿੰਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥
pūrē gur kī sēvā kīnī achint har mann vasāiā .
Serving the Perfect Guru, one becomes carefree, enshrining the Lord within the mind.
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
man tan niramal sadā sukh antar vichah bharam chukāiā .3.
The mind and body become immaculately pure, and a lasting peace fills the heart; doubt is eradicated from within. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਸਦਾ ਪੰਥੁ ਵਿਖੜਾ ਕੋ ਪਾਏ ਗੁਰ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥
har kā mārag sadā panth vikharā kō pāē gur vīchārā .
The Way of the Lord is always such a difficult path; only a few find it, contemplating the Guru.
ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਜੇ ਵਿਕਾਰਾ ॥
har kai rang rātā sabadē mātā haumai tajē vikārā .
Imbued with the Lord's Love, and intoxicated with the Shabad, he renounces ego and corruption.
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤਾ ਇਕ ਰੰਗੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੩॥
nānak nām ratā ik rangī sabad savāranahārā .4.3.
O Nanak, imbued with the Naam, and the Love of the One Lord, he is embellished with the Word of the Shabad. ||4||3||
