ਸਲੋਕੁ ॥

Shalok:
ਜੋ ਲੋੜੀਦੇ ਰਾਮ ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਈ ਕਾਂਢਿਆ ॥
jō lōrīdē rām sēvak sēī kānhdhiā .
Those who long for the Lord, are said to be His servants.
ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਣੇ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਂਈ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਬਾਹਰਾ ॥੧॥
nānak jānē sat sānhī sant n bāharā .1.
Nanak knows this Truth, that the Lord is not different from His Saint. ||1||
ਛੰਤੁ ॥

Chhant:
ਮਿਲਿ ਜਲੁ ਜਲਹਿ ਖਟਾਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
mil jal jalah khatānā rām .
As water mixes and blends with water,
ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਨਾ ਰਾਮ ॥
sang jōtī jōt milānā rām .
so does one's light mix and blend with the Lord's Light.
ਸੰਮਾਇ ਪੂਰਨ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਰਤੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਹਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ॥
sanmāi pūran purakh karatē āp āpah jānīai .
Merging with the perfect, all-powerful Creator, one comes to know his own self.
ਤਹ ਸੁੰਨਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਏਕੁ ਏਕੁ ਵਖਾਣੀਐ ॥
tah sunn sahaj samādh lāgī ēk ēk vakhānīai .
Then, he enters the celestial state of absolute Samaadhi, and speaks of the One and Only Lord.
ਆਪਿ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਕਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੁ ਵਖਾਨਾ ॥
āp gupatā āp mukatā āp āp vakhānā .
He Himself is unmanifest, and He Himself is liberated; He Himself speaks of Himself.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਭੈ ਗੁਣ ਬਿਨਾਸੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਜਲੁ ਜਲਹਿ ਖਟਾਨਾ ॥੪॥੨॥
nānak bhram bhai gun bināsē mil jal jalah khatānā .4.2.
O Nanak, doubt, fear and the limitations of the three qualities are dispelled, as one merges into the Lord, like water blending with water. ||4||2||
