ਜਨ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਤ੍ਰਾਹਿ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਰ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਰਖਵਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੩॥
jan trāh trāh saranāgatī mērī jindurīē gur nānak har rakhavālē rām .3.
The Lord's humble servants beseech and implore Him, and enter His Sanctuary, O my soul; Guru Nanak becomes their Divine Protector. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਉਬਰੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਧੁਰਿ ਭਾਗ ਵਡੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
har jan har liv ubarē mērī jindurīē dhur bhāg vadē har pāiā rām .
The Lord's humble servants are saved, through the Love of the Lord, O my soul; by their pre-ordained good destiny, they obtain the Lord.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪੋਤੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਰ ਖੇਵਟ ਸਬਦਿ ਤਰਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
har har nām pōt hai mērī jindurīē gur khēvat sabad tarāiā rām .
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the ship, O my soul, and the Guru is the helmsman. Through the Word of the Shabad, He ferries us across.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮੀਠ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥
har har purakh daiāl hai mērī jindurīē gur satigur mīth lagāiā rām .
The Lord, Har, Har, is all-powerful and very kind, O my soul; through the Guru, the True Guru, He seems so sweet.
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਰਾਮ ॥੪॥੨॥
kar kirapā sun bēnatī har har jan nānak nām dhiāiā rām .4.2.
Shower Your Mercy upon me, and hear my prayer, O Lord, Har, Har; please, let servant Nanak meditate on Your Name. ||4||2||

The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is Ambrosial Nectar, O my soul; through the Guru's Teachings, this Nectar is obtained.
ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਬਿਖੁ ਹੈ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
haumai māiā bikh hai mērī jindurīē har anmrit bikh lah jāē rām .
Pride in Maya is poison, O my soul; through the Ambrosial Nectar of the Name, this poison is eradicated.
ਮਨੁ ਸੁਕਾ ਹਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਰਾਮ ॥
man sukā hariā hōiā mērī jindurīē har har nām dhiāē rām .
The dry mind is rejuvenated, O my soul, meditating on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਹਰਿ ਭਾਗ ਵਡੇ ਲਿਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਏ ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
har bhāg vadē likh pāiā mērī jindurīē jan nānak nām samāē rām .1.
The Lord has given me the pre-ordained blessing of high destiny, O my soul; servant Nanak merges in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਿਉ ਬਾਲਕ ਲਗਿ ਦੁਧ ਖੀਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
har sētī man bēdhiā mērī jindurīē jiu bālak lag dudh khīrē rām .
My mind is attached to the Lord, O my soul, like the infant, sucking his mother's milk.
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਜਿਉ ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕੁ ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਟੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
har bin sānht n pāīai mērī jindurīē jiu chātrik jal bin tērē rām .
Without the Lord, I find no peace, O my soul; I am like the song-bird, crying out without the rain drops.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸਰਣੀ ਜਾਇ ਪਉ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਗੁਣ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
satigur saranī jāi pau mērī jindurīē gun dasē har prabh kērē rām .
Go, and seek the Sanctuary of the True Guru, O my soul; He shall tell you of the Glorious Virtues of the Lord God.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਜੇ ਸਬਦ ਘਣੇਰੇ ਰਾਮ ॥੨॥
jan nānak har mēlāiā mērī jindurīē ghar vājē sabad ghanērē rām .2.
Servant Nanak has merged into the Lord, O my soul; the many melodies of the Shabad resound within his heart. ||2||
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਛੁੜੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਬਿਖੁ ਬਾਧੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
manamukh haumai vishurē mērī jindurīē bikh bādhē haumai jālē rām .
Through egotism, the self-willed manmukhs are separated, O my soul; bound to poison, they are burnt by egotism.
ਜਿਉ ਪੰਖੀ ਕਪੋਤਿ ਆਪੁ ਬਨ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਤਿਉ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸਭਿ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
jiu pankhī kapōt āp banhāiā mērī jindurīē tiu manamukh sabh vas kālē rām .
Like the pigeon, which itself falls into the trap, O my soul, all the self-willed manmukhs fall under the influence of death.
ਜੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਦੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਿੰਦੁੜੀਏ ਸੇ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੂੜ ਬਿਤਾਲੇ ਰਾਮ ॥
jō mōh māiā chit lāidē mērī jindurīē sē manamukh mūr bitālē rām .
Those self-willed manmukhs who focus their consciousness on Maya, O my soul, are foolish, evil demons.
