ਓਨੀ ਚਲਣੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੀਆ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
ōnī chalan sadā nihāliā har kharach līā pat pāi .
They keep death constantly before their eyes; they gather the Provisions of the Lord's Name, and receive honor.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੰਨੀਅਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਲਏ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
guramukh daragah mannīah har āp laē gal lāi .2.
The Gurmukhs are honored in the Court of the Lord. The Lord Himself takes them in His Loving Embrace. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਪੰਥੁ ਪਰਗਟਾ ਦਰਿ ਠਾਕ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇ ॥
guramukhā nō panth paragatā dar thāk n kōī pāi .
For the Gurmukhs, the Way is obvious. At the Lord's Door, they face no obstructions.
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਨਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
har nām salāhan nām man nām rahan liv lāi .
They praise the Lord's Name, they keep the Naam in their minds, and they remain attached to the Love of the Naam.
ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨੀ ਦਰਿ ਵਜਦੇ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇ ॥੩॥
anahad dhunī dar vajadē dar sachai sōbhā pāi .3.
The Unstruck Celestial Music vibrates for them at the Lord's Door, and they are honored at the True Door. ||3||
ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥
jinī guramukh nām salāhiā tinā sabh kō kahai sābās .
Those Gurmukhs who praise the Naam are applauded by everyone.
ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੈ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
tin kī sangat dēh prabh mai jāchik kī aradās .
Grant me their company, God-I am a beggar; this is my prayer.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗ ਵਡੇ ਤਿਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਜਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੩੧॥੬॥੭੦॥
nānak bhāg vadē tinā guramukhā jin antar nām paragās .4.33.31.6.70.
O Nanak, great is the good fortune of those Gurmukhs, who are filled with the Light of the Naam within. ||4||33||31||6||70||

ਦਿਨਸੁ ਚੜੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਥਵੈ ਰੈਣਿ ਸਬਾਈ ਜਾਇ ॥
dinas charai phir āthavai rain sabāī jāi .
The day dawns, and then it ends, and the night passes away.
ਆਵ ਘਟੈ ਨਰੁ ਨਾ ਬੁਝੈ ਨਿਤਿ ਮੂਸਾ ਲਾਜੁ ਟੁਕਾਇ ॥
āv ghatai nar nā bujhai nit mūsā lāj tukāi .
Man's life is diminishing, but he does not understand. Each day, the mouse of death is gnawing away at the rope of life.
ਗੁੜੁ ਮਿਠਾ ਮਾਇਆ ਪਸਰਿਆ ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਲਗਿ ਮਾਖੀ ਪਚੈ ਪਚਾਇ ॥੧॥
gur mithā māiā pasariā manamukh lag mākhī pachai pachāi .1.
Maya spreads out like sweet molasses; the self-willed manmukh is stuck like a fly, rotting away. ||1||
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਮੈ ਮੀਤੁ ਸਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
bhāī rē mai mīt sakhā prabh sōi .
O Siblings of Destiny, God is my Friend and Companion.
ਪੁਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਹੈ ਅੰਤਿ ਬੇਲੀ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
put kalat mōh bikh hai ant bēlī kōi n hōi .1. rahāu .
Emotional attachment to children and spouse is poison; in the end, no one will go along with you as your helper. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਉਬਰੇ ਅਲਿਪਤੁ ਰਹੇ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥
guramat har liv ubarē alipat rahē saranāi .
Through the Guru's Teachings, some embrace love for the Lord, and are saved. They remain detached and unaffected, and they find the Sanctuary of the Lord.
