ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਲੈ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
har har nām nidhān lai guramat har pat pāi .
Take the treasure of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. Follow the Guru's Teachings, and the Lord shall bless you with honor.
ਹਲਤਿ ਪਲਤਿ ਨਾਲਿ ਚਲਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਤੇ ਲਏ ਛਡਾਇ ॥
halat palat nāl chaladā har antē laē shadāi .
Here and hereafter, the Lord goes with you; in the end, He shall deliver you.
ਜਿਥੈ ਅਵਘਟ ਗਲੀਆ ਭੀੜੀਆ ਤਿਥੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਾਇ ॥੧॥
jithai avaghat galīā bhīrīā tithai har har mukat karāi .1.
Where the path is difficult and the street is narrow, there the Lord shall liberate you. ||1||
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਾ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇ ॥
mērē satigurā mai har har nām drirāi .
O my True Guru, implant within me the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਮੇਰਾ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪੋ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਮਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
mērā māt pitā sut bandhapō mai har bin avar n māi .1. rahāu .
The Lord is my mother, father, child and relative; I have none other than the Lord, O my mother. ||1||Pause||
ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਹੈ ਕੋਈ ਆਣਿ ਮਿਲਾਵੈ ਮਾਇ ॥
mai har birahī har nām hai kōī ān milāvai māi .
I feel the pains of love and yearning for the Lord, and the Name of the Lord. If only someone would come and unite me with Him, O my mother.
ਤਿਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਮੈ ਜੋਦੜੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
tis āgai mai jōdarī mērā prītam dēi milāi .
I bow in humble devotion to one who inspires me to meet with my Beloved.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਦਇਆਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਢਿਲ ਨ ਪਾਇ ॥੨॥
satigur purakh daiāl prabh har mēlē dhil n pāi .2.
The almighty and merciful True Guru unites me with the Lord God instantaneously. ||2||
ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥
jin har har nām n chētiō sē bhāgahīn mar jāi .
Those who do not remember the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, are most unfortunate, and are slaughtered.
ਓਇ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਭਵਾਈਅਹਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥
ōi phir phir jōn bhavāīah mar janmah āvai jāi .
They wander in reincarnation, again and again; they die, and are re-born, and continue coming and going.
ਓਇ ਜਮ ਦਰਿ ਬਧੇ ਮਾਰੀਅਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥੩॥
ōi jam dar badhē mārīah har daragah milai sajāi .3.
Bound and gagged at Death's Door, they are cruelly beaten, and punished in the Court of the Lord. ||3||
ਤੂ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹਮ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥
tū prabh ham saranāgatī mō kau mēl laih har rāi .
O God, I seek Your Sanctuary; O my Sovereign Lord King, please unite me with Yourself.
ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਜਗਜੀਵਨਾ ਗੁਰ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਇ ॥
har dhār kripā jagajīvanā gur satigur kī saranāi .
O Lord, Life of the World, please shower me with Your Mercy; grant me the Sanctuary of the Guru, the True Guru.
ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੩॥
har jīu āp daiāl hōi jan nānak har mēlāi .4.1.3.
The Dear Lord, becoming merciful, has blended servant Nanak with Himself. ||4||1||3||

Maaroo, Fourth Mehl:
ਹਉ ਪੂੰਜੀ ਨਾਮੁ ਦਸਾਇਦਾ ਕੋ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
hau pūnjī nām dasāidā kō dasē har dhan rās .
I inquire about the commodity of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. Is there anyone who can show me the wealth, the capital of the Lord?
ਹਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਖਨ ਖੰਨੀਐ ਮੈ ਮੇਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
hau tis vitah khan khannīai mai mēlē har prabh pās .
I cut myself into pieces, and make myself a sacrifice to that one who leads me to meet my Lord God.
ਮੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਪਿਰੰਮ ਕਾ ਕਿਉ ਸਜਣੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਸਿ ॥੧॥
mai antar prēm piranm kā kiu sajan milai milās .1.
I am filled with the Love of my Beloved; how can I meet my Friend, and merge with Him? ||1||
ਮਨ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਮਿਤ੍ਰਾ ਮੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
man piāriā mitrā mai har har nām dhan rās .
O my beloved friend, my mind, I take the wealth, the capital of the Name of the Lord, Har, Har.
ਗੁਰਿ ਪੂਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਧੀਰਕ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
gur pūrai nām drirāiā har dhīrak har sābās .1. rahāu .
The Perfect Guru has implanted the Naam within me; the Lord is my support - I celebrate the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੈ ਦਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਰਾਸਿ ॥
har har āp milāi gur mai dasē har dhan rās .
O my Guru, please unite me with the Lord, Har, Har; show me the wealth, the capital of the Lord.
ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਨ ਲਭਈ ਜਨ ਵੇਖਹੁ ਮਨਿ ਨਿਰਜਾਸਿ ॥
bin gur prēm n labhaī jan vēkhah man nirajās .
Without the Guru, love does not well up; see this, and know it in your mind.
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਪੁ ਰਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥੨॥
har gur vich āp rakhiā har mēlē gur sābās .2.
The Lord has installed Himself within the Guru; so praise the Guru, who unites us with the Lord. ||2||
ਸਾਗਰ ਭਗਤਿ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਹਰਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
sāgar bhagat bhandār har pūrē satigur pās .
The ocean, the treasure of devotional worship of the Lord, rests with the Perfect True Guru.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਤੁਠਾ ਖੋਲਿ ਦੇਇ ਮੁਖਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥
satigur tuthā khōl dēi mukh guramukh har paragās .
When it pleases the True Guru, He opens the treasure, and and the Gurmukhs are illuminated by the Lord's Light.
ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਹੂਣਿਆ ਤਿਖ ਮੁਈਆ ਕੰਧੀ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
manamukh bhāg vihūniā tikh muīā kandhī pās .3.
The unfortunate self-willed manmukhs die of thirst, on the very bank of the river. ||3||
ਗੁਰੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਹਉ ਮਾਗਉ ਦਾਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥
gur dātā dātār hai hau māgau dān gur pās .
The Guru is the Great Giver; I beg for this gift from the Guru,
ਚਿਰੀ ਵਿਛੁੰਨਾ ਮੇਲਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਵਡੜੀ ਆਸ ॥
chirī vishunnā mēl prabh mai man tan vadarī ās .
that He may unite me with God, from whom I was separated for so long! This is the great hope of my mind and body.
ਗੁਰ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੨॥੪॥
gur bhāvai sun bēnatī jan nānak kī aradās .4.2.4.
If it pleases You, O my Guru, please listen to my prayer; this is servant Nanak's prayer. ||4||2||4||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣਾਇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥
har har kathā sunāi prabh guramat har ridai samānī .
O Lord God, please preach Your sermon to me. Through the Guru's Teachings, the Lord is merged into my heart.
ਜਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਵਡਭਾਗੀਆ ਹਰਿ ਉਤਮ ਪਦੁ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥
jap har har kathā vadabhāgīā har utam pad nirabānī .
Meditate on the sermon of the Lord, Har, Har, O very fortunate ones; the Lord shall bless you with the most sublime status of Nirvaanaa.
