ਤੰਤੁ ਮੰਤੁ ਨਹ ਜੋਹਈ ਤਿਤੁ ਚਾਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tant mant nah jōhaī tit chākh n lāgai .1. rahāu .
He is not affected by charms and spells, nor is he harmed by the evil eye. ||1||Pause||
ਕਾਮ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮਦ ਮਾਨ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਅਨਰਾਗੈ ॥
kām krōdh mad mān mōh binasē anarāgai .
Sexual desire, anger, the intoxication of egotism and emotional attachment are dispelled, by loving devotion.
ਆਨੰਦ ਮਗਨ ਰਸਿ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਾਗੈ ॥੨॥੪॥੬੮॥
ānand magan ras rām rang nānak saranāgai .2.4.68.
One who enters the Lord's Sanctuary, O Nanak, remains merged in ecstasy in the subtle essence of the Lord's Love. ||2||4||68||

ਜੀਅ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵਸਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਕੈ ਜੋ ਕਹੈ ਸੁ ਕਰਨਾ ॥
jī jugat vas prabhū kai jō kahai s karanā .
The living creatures and their ways are in God's power. Whatever He says, they do.
ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਰਾਇ ਭਉ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
bhaē prasann gōpāl rāi bhau kish nahī karanā .1.
When the Sovereign Lord of the Universe is pleased, there is nothing at all to fear. ||1||
ਦੂਖੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਕਦੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ॥
dūkh n lāgai kadē tudh pārabraham chitārē .
Pain shall never afflict you, if you remember the Supreme Lord God.
ਜਮਕੰਕਰੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਗੁਰਸਿਖ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jamakankar nēr n āvaī gurasikh piārē .1. rahāu .
The Messenger of Death does not even approach the beloved Sikhs of the Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
karan kāran samarath hai tis bin nahī hōr .
The All-powerful Lord is the Cause of causes; there is no other than Him.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਸਾਚਾ ਮਨਿ ਜੋਰੁ ॥੨॥੫॥੬੯॥
nānak prabh saranāgatī sāchā man jōr .2.5.69.
Nanak has entered the Sanctuary of God; the True Lord has given strength to the mind. ||2||5||69||

ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਨਾ ਨਾਠਾ ਦੁਖ ਠਾਉ ॥
simar simar prabh āpanā nāthā dukh thāu .
Remembering, remembering my God in meditation, the house of pain is removed.
ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ਪਾਏ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਧਾਉ ॥੧॥
bisrām pāē mil sādhasang tā tē bahur n dhāu .1.
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I have found peace and tranquility; I shall not wander away from there again. ||1||
ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਆਪਨੇ ਚਰਨਨ੍ਹ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥
balihārī gur āpanē charananh bal jāu .
I am devoted to my Guru; I am a sacrifice to His Feet.
ਅਨਦ ਸੂਖ ਮੰਗਲ ਬਨੇ ਪੇਖਤ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
anad sūkh mangal banē pēkhat gun gāu .1. rahāu .
I am blessed with ecstasy, peace and happiness, gazing upon the Guru, and singing the Lord's Glorious Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਰਾਗ ਨਾਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਬਨਿਓ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
kathā kīratan rāg nād dhun ih baniō suāu .
This is my life's purpose, to sing the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises, and listen to the vibrations of the sound current of the Naad.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਭਏ ਬਾਂਛਤ ਫਲ ਪਾਉ ॥੨॥੬॥੭੦॥
nānak prabh suprasann bhaē bānhshat phal pāu .2.6.70.
O Nanak, God is totally pleased with me; I have obtained the fruits of my desires. ||2||6||70||

ਦਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਰਿਦ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
dās tērē kī bēnatī rid kar paragās .
This is the prayer of Your slave: please enlighten my heart.
ਤੁਮ੍ਹਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਦੋਖਨ ਕੋ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੧॥
tumharī kripā tē pārabraham dōkhan kō nās .1.
By Your Mercy, O Supreme Lord God, please erase my sins. ||1||
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਕਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥
charan kamal kā āsarā prabh purakh gunatās .
I take the Support of Your Lotus Feet, O God, Primal Lord, treasure of virtue.
ਕੀਰਤਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਰਹਉ ਜਬ ਲਗੁ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kīratan nām simarat rahau jab lag ghat sās .1. rahāu .
I shall meditate in remembrance on the Praises of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, as long as there is breath in my body. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬੰਧਪ ਤੂਹੈ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
māt pitā bandhap tūhai tū sarab nivās .
You are my mother, father and relative; You are abiding within all.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਰਣਾਗਤੀ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਜਾਸੁ ॥੨॥੭॥੭੧॥
nānak prabh saranāgatī jā kō niramal jās .2.7.71.
Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of God; His Praise is immaculate and pure. ||2||7||71||

ਸਰਬ ਸਿਧਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ਸਭਿ ਭਲਾ ਮਨਾਵਹਿ ॥
sarab sidh har gāīai sabh bhalā manāvah .
All perfect spiritual powers are obtained, when one sings the Lord's Praises; everyone wishes him well.
ਸਾਧੁ ਸਾਧੁ ਮੁਖ ਤੇ ਕਹਹਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਦਾਸ ਮਿਲਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥
sādh sādh mukh tē kahah sun dās milāvah .1.
Everyone calls him holy and spiritual; hearing of him, the Lord's slaves come to meet him. ||1||
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਕਲਿਆਣ ਰਸ ਪੂਰੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ ॥
sūkh sahaj kaliān ras pūrai gur kīnh .
The Perfect Guru blesses him with peace, poise, salvation and happiness.
ਜੀਅ ਸਗਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੀਨ੍ਹ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jī sagal daiāl bhaē har har nām chīnh .1. rahāu .
All living beings become compassionate to him; he remembers the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||1||Pause||
ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਸਰਬਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰ ॥
pūr rahiō sarabatr mah prabh gunī gahīr .
He is permeating and pervading everywhere; God is the ocean of virtue.
ਨਾਨਕ ਭਗਤ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੈ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਧੀਰ ॥੨॥੮॥੭੨॥
nānak bhagat ānand mai pēkh prabh kī dhīr .2.8.72.
O Nanak, the devotees are in bliss, gazing upon God's abiding stability. ||2||8||72||

ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਦਾਤਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਹੋਏ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
aradās sunī dātār prabh hōē kirapāl .
God, the Great Giver, has become merciful; He has listened to my prayer.
ਰਾਖਿ ਲੀਆ ਅਪਨਾ ਸੇਵਕੋ ਮੁਖਿ ਨਿੰਦਕ ਛਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
rākh līā apanā sēvakō mukh nindak shār .1.
He has saved His servant, and put ashes into the mouth of the slanderer. ||1||
ਤੁਝਹਿ ਨ ਜੋਹੈ ਕੋ ਮੀਤ ਜਨ ਤੂੰ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਾਸ ॥
tujhah n jōhai kō mīt jan tūn gur kā dās .
No one can threaten you now, O my humble friend, for you are the slave of the Guru.
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਤੂ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਦੇ ਅਪਨੇ ਹਾਥ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pārabraham tū rākhiā dē apanē hāth .1. rahāu .
The Supreme Lord God reached out with His Hand and saved you. ||1||Pause||
ਜੀਅਨ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਬੀਆ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਰੁ ॥
jīan kā dātā ēk hai bīā nahī hōr .
The One Lord is the Giver of all beings; there is no other at all.
ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਮੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋਰੁ ॥੨॥੯॥੭੩॥
nānak kī bēnantīā mai tērā jōr .2.9.73.
Nanak prays, You are my only strength, God. ||2||9||73||

ਮੀਤ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਸਾਜਨਾ ਰਾਖੇ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ॥
mīt hamārē sājanā rākhē gōvind .
The Lord of the Universe has saved my friends and companions.
ਨਿੰਦਕ ਮਿਰਤਕ ਹੋਇ ਗਏ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ ਹੋਹੁ ਨਿਚਿੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nindak miratak hōi gaē tumh hōh nichind .1. rahāu .
The slanderers have died, so do not worry. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਏ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥
sagal manōrath prabh kīē bhētē guradēv .
God has fulfilled all hopes and desires; I have met the Divine Guru.
