ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਰਤੇ ਦਮ ਆਢ ਕਉ ਤੇ ਗਨੀ ਧਨੀਤਾ ॥੩॥
sram karatē dam ādh kau tē ganī dhanītā .3.
Those who worked for half a shell, will be judged very wealthy. ||3||
ਕਵਨ ਵਡਾਈ ਕਹਿ ਸਕਉ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਗੁਨੀਤਾ ॥
kavan vadāī kah sakau bēant gunītā .
What glorious greatness of Yours can I describe, O Lord of infinite excellences?
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰ ਸਰੀਤਾ ॥੪॥੭॥੩੭॥
kar kirapā mōh nām dēh nānak dar sarītā .4.7.37.
Please bless me with Your Mercy, and grant me Your Name; O Nanak, I am lost without the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan. ||4||7||37||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਪਰਬਾਦ ਨੀਤ ਲੋਭ ਰਸਨਾ ਸਾਦਿ ॥
ahanbudh parabād nīt lōbh rasanā sād .
He is constantly entangled in pride, conflict, greed and tasty flavors.
ਲਪਟਿ ਕਪਟਿ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਬਿਖਿਆਦਿ ॥੧॥
lapat kapat grih bēdhiā mithiā bikhiād .1.
He is involved in deception, fraud, household affairs and corruption. ||1||
ਐਸੀ ਪੇਖੀ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਮਹਿ ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
aisī pēkhī nētr mah pūrē gur parasād .
I have seen this with my eyes, by the Grace of the Perfect Guru.
ਰਾਜ ਮਿਲਖ ਧਨ ਜੋਬਨਾ ਨਾਮੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਦਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rāj milakh dhan jōbanā nāmai bin bād .1. rahāu .
Power, property, wealth and youth are useless, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
ਰੂਪ ਧੂਪ ਸੋਗੰਧਤਾ ਕਾਪਰ ਭੋਗਾਦਿ ॥
rūp dhūp sōgandhatā kāpar bhōgād .
Beauty, incense, scented oils, beautiful clothes and foods
ਮਿਲਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਪਿਸਟ ਤਨ ਹੋਏ ਦੁਰਗਾਦਿ ॥੨॥
milat sang pāpisat tan hōē duragād .2.
- when they come into contact with the body of the sinner, they stink. ||2||
ਫਿਰਤ ਫਿਰਤ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਭਇਆ ਖਿਨ ਭੰਗਨ ਦੇਹਾਦਿ ॥
phirat phirat mānukh bhaiā khin bhangan dēhād .
Wandering, wandering around, the soul is reincarnated as a human, but this body lasts only for an instant.
ਇਹ ਅਉਸਰ ਤੇ ਚੂਕਿਆ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਾਦਿ ॥੩॥
ih ausar tē chūkiā bah jōn bhramād .3.
Losing this opportunity, he must wander again through countless incarnations. ||3||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਮਾਦ ॥
prabh kirapā tē gur milē har har bisamād .
By God's Grace, he meets the Guru; contemplating the Lord, Har, Har, he is wonderstruck.
ਸੂਖ ਸਹਜ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਨੰਦ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਪੂਰਨ ਨਾਦ ॥੪॥੮॥੩੮॥
sūkh sahaj nānak anand tā kai pūran nād .4.8.38.
He is blessed with peace, poise and bliss, O Nanak, through the perfect sound current of the Naad. ||4||8||38||

ਚਰਨ ਭਏ ਸੰਤ ਬੋਹਿਥਾ ਤਰੇ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਜੇਤ ॥
charan bhaē sant bōhithā tarē sāgar jēt .
The feet of the Saints are the boat, to cross over the world-ocean.
ਮਾਰਗ ਪਾਏ ਉਦਿਆਨ ਮਹਿ ਗੁਰਿ ਦਸੇ ਭੇਤ ॥੧॥
mārag pāē udiān mah gur dasē bhēt .1.
In the wilderness, the Guru places them on the Path, and reveals the secrets of the Lord's Mystery. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹੇਤ ॥
har har har har har harē har har har hēt .
O Lord, Har Har Har, Har Har Haray, Har Har Har, I love You.
ਊਠਤ ਬੈਠਤ ਸੋਵਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ūthat baithat sōvatē har har har chēt .1. rahāu .
While standing up, sitting down and sleeping, think of the Lord, Har Har Har. ||1||Pause||
ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਆਗੈ ਭਗੇ ਜਬ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੇਤ ॥
panch chōr āgai bhagē jab sādhasangēt .
The five thieves run away, when one joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
ਪੂੰਜੀ ਸਾਬਤੁ ਘਣੋ ਲਾਭੁ ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੇਤ ॥੨॥
pūnjī sābat ghanō lābh grih sōbhā sēt .2.
His investment is intact, and he earns great profits; his household is blessed with honor. ||2||
ਨਿਹਚਲ ਆਸਣੁ ਮਿਟੀ ਚਿੰਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਡੋਲੇਤ ॥
nihachal āsan mitī chint nāhī dōlēt .
His position is unmoving and eternal, his anxiety is ended, and he wavers no more.
ਭਰਮੁ ਭੁਲਾਵਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੇਖਤ ਨੇਤ ॥੩॥
bharam bhulāvā mit gaiā prabh pēkhat nēt .3.
His doubts and misgivings are dispelled, and he sees God everywhere. ||3||
ਗੁਣ ਗਭੀਰ ਗੁਨ ਨਾਇਕਾ ਗੁਣ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਕੇਤ ॥
gun gabhīr gun nāikā gun kahīah kēt .
The Virtues of our Virtuous Lord and Master are so profound; how many of His Glorious Virtues should I speak?
ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰੇਤ ॥੪॥੯॥੩੯॥
nānak pāiā sādhasang har har anmrēt .4.9.39.
Nanak has obtained the Ambrosial Nectar of the Lord, Har, Har, in the Company of the Holy. ||4||9||39||

Bilaaval, Fifth Mehl:
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਜੋ ਜੀਵਨਾ ਤੇਤੋ ਬਿਰਥਾਰੀ ॥
bin sādhū jō jīvanā tētō birathārī .
That life, which has no contact with the Holy, is useless.
ਮਿਲਤ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਭਿ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਮਿਟੇ ਗਤਿ ਭਈ ਹਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
milat sang sabh bhram mitē gat bhaī hamārī .1.
Joining their congregation, all doubts are dispelled, and I am emancipated. ||1||
ਜਾ ਦਿਨ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਾਧ ਮੋਹਿ ਉਆ ਦਿਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥
jā din bhētē sādh mōh uā din balihārī .
That day, when I meet with the Holy - I am a sacrifice to that day.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਪਨੋ ਜੀਅਰਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
tan man apanō jīarā phir phir hau vārī .1. rahāu .
Again and again, I sacrifice my body, mind and soul to them. ||1||Pause||
ਏਤ ਛਡਾਈ ਮੋਹਿ ਤੇ ਇਤਨੀ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਤਾਰੀ ॥
ēt shadāī mōh tē itanī driratārī .
They have helped me renounce this ego, and implant this humility within myself.
ਸਗਲ ਰੇਨ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭਇਆ ਬਿਨਸੀ ਅਪਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
sagal rēn ih man bhaiā binasī apadhārī .2.
This mind has become the dust of all men's feet, and my self-conceit has been dispelled. ||2||
ਨਿੰਦ ਚਿੰਦ ਪਰ ਦੂਖਨਾ ਏ ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਰੀ ॥
nind chind par dūkhanā ē khin mah jārī .
In an instant, I burnt away the ideas of slander and ill-will towards others.
ਦਇਆ ਮਇਆ ਅਰੁ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਪੇਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੂਰਾਰੀ ॥੩॥
daiā maiā ar nikat pēkh nāhī dūrārī .3.
I see close at hand, the Lord of mercy and compassion; He is not far away at all. ||3||
ਤਨ ਮਨ ਸੀਤਲ ਭਏ ਅਬ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰੀ ॥
tan man sītal bhaē ab mukatē sansārī .
My body and mind are cooled and soothed, and now, I am liberated from the world.
ਹੀਤ ਚੀਤ ਸਭ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਧਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਰਸਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੦॥੪੦॥
hīt chīt sabh prān dhan nānak darasārī .4.10.40.
Love, consciousness, the breath of life, wealth and everything, O Nanak, are in the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||4||10||40||

ਟਹਲ ਕਰਉ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਪਗ ਝਾਰਉ ਬਾਲ ॥
tahal karau tērē dās kī pag jhārau bāl .
I perform service for Your slave, O Lord, and wipe his feet with my hair.
ਮਸਤਕੁ ਅਪਨਾ ਭੇਟ ਦੇਉ ਗੁਨ ਸੁਨਉ ਰਸਾਲ ॥੧॥
masatak apanā bhēt dēu gun sunau rasāl .1.
I offer my head to him, and listen to the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the source of bliss. ||1||
ਤੁਮ੍ਹ ਮਿਲਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਜੀਓ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ ਮਿਲਹੁ ਦਇਆਲ ॥
tumh milatē mērā man jīō tumh milah daiāl .
Meeting You, my mind is rejuvenated, so please meet me, O Merciful Lord.
ਨਿਸਿ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਹੋਤ ਚਿਤਵਤ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
nis bāsur man anad hōt chitavat kirapāl .1. rahāu .
Night and day, my mind enjoys bliss, contemplating the Lord of Compassion. ||1||Pause||
