ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਕੋਈ ਜਾਨੈ ਕਵਨੁ ਈਹਾ ਜਗਿ ਮੀਤੁ ॥
kōī jānai kavan īhā jag mīt .
Does anyone know, who is our friend in this world?
ਜਿਸੁ ਹੋਇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਸੋਈ ਬਿਧਿ ਬੂਝੈ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jis hōi kripāl sōī bidh būjhai tā kī niramal rīt .1. rahāu .
He alone understands this, whom the Lord blesses with His Mercy. Immaculate and unstained is his way of life. ||1||Pause||
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਸੁਤ ਬੰਧਪ ਇਸਟ ਮੀਤ ਅਰੁ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਪੂਰਬ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੰਜੋਗੀ ਅੰਤਹਿ ਕੋ ਨ ਸਹਾਈ ॥੧॥
māt pitā banitā sut bandhap isat mīt ar bhāī . pūrab janam kē milē sanjōgī antah kō n sahāī .1.
Mother, father, spouse, children, relatives, lovers, friends and siblings meet, having been associated in previous lives; but none of them will be your companion and support in the end. ||1||
ਮੁਕਤਿ ਮਾਲ ਕਨਿਕ ਲਾਲ ਹੀਰਾ ਮਨ ਰੰਜਨ ਕੀ ਮਾਇਆ ॥
mukat māl kanik lāl hīrā man ranjan kī māiā .
Pearl necklaces, gold, rubies and diamonds please the mind, but they are only Maya.
ਹਾ ਹਾ ਕਰਤ ਬਿਹਾਨੀ ਅਵਧਹਿ ਤਾ ਮਹਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
hā hā karat bihānī avadhah tā mah santōkh n pāiā .2.
Possessing them, one passes his life in agony; he obtains no contentment from them. ||2||
ਹਸਤਿ ਰਥ ਅਸ੍ਵ ਪਵਨ ਤੇਜ ਧਣੀ ਭੂਮਨ ਚਤੁਰਾਂਗਾ ॥
hasat rath asv pavan tēj dhanī bhūman chaturānhgā .
Elephants, chariots, horses as fast as the wind, wealth, land, and armies of four kinds
ਸੰਗਿ ਨ ਚਾਲਿਓ ਇਨ ਮਹਿ ਕਛੂਐ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਇਓ ਨਾਂਗਾ ॥੩॥
sang n chāliō in mah kashūai ūth sidhāiō nānhgā .3.
- none of these will go with him; he must get up and depart, naked. ||3||
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇ ਤਾ ਕੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥
har kē sant pri prītam prabh kē tā kai har har gāīai .
The Lord's Saints are the beloved lovers of God; sing of the Lord, Har, Har, with them.
ਨਾਨਕ ਈਹਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਆਗੈ ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਪਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੧॥
nānak īhā sukh āgai mukh ūjal sang santan kai pāīai .4.1.
O Nanak, in the Society of the Saints, you shall obtain peace in this world, and in the next world, your face shall be radiant and bright. ||4||1||

ਦੇਹੁ ਸੰਦੇਸਰੋ ਕਹੀਅਉ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਕਹੀਅਉ ॥
dēh sandēsarō kahīau pri kahīau .
Give me a message from my Beloved - tell me, tell me!
ਬਿਸਮੁ ਭਈ ਮੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੁਨਤੇ ਕਹਹੁ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਸਹੀਅਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bisam bhaī mai bah bidh sunatē kahah suhāgan sahīau .1. rahāu .
I am wonder-struck, hearing the many reports of Him; tell them to me, O my happy sister soul-brides. ||1||Pause||
ਕੋ ਕਹਤੋ ਸਭ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਕਹਤੋ ਸਭ ਮਹੀਅਉ ॥
kō kahatō sabh bāhar bāhar kō kahatō sabh mahīau .
Some say that He is beyond the world - totally beyond it, while others say that He is totally within it.
ਬਰਨੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਚਿਹਨੁ ਨ ਲਖੀਐ ਸੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਸਾਤਿ ਬੁਝਹੀਅਉ ॥੧॥
baran n dīsai chihan n lakhīai suhāgan sāt bujhahīau .1.
His color cannot be seen, and His pattern cannot be discerned. O happy soul-brides, tell me the truth! ||1||
ਸਰਬ ਨਿਵਾਸੀ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਵਾਸੀ ਲੇਪੁ ਨਹੀ ਅਲਪਹੀਅਉ ॥
sarab nivāsī ghat ghat vāsī lēp nahī alapahīau .
He is pervading everywhere, and He dwells in each and every heart; He is not stained - He is unstained.
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਕਹਤ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਰੇ ਲੋਗਾ ਸੰਤ ਰਸਨ ਕੋ ਬਸਹੀਅਉ ॥੨॥੧॥੨॥
nānak kahat sunah rē lōgā sant rasan kō basahīau .2.1.2.
Says Nanak, listen, O people: He dwells upon the tongues of the Saints. ||2||1||2||

Jaitsree, Fifth Mehl:
ਧੀਰਉ ਸੁਨਿ ਧੀਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dhīrau sun dhīrau prabh kau .1. rahāu .
I am calmed, calmed and soothed, hearing of God. ||1||Pause||
ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਅਰਪਉ ਨੀਰਉ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ਨੀਰਉ ॥੧॥
jī prān man tan sabh arapau nīrau pēkh prabh kau nīrau .1.
I dedicate my soul, my breath of life, my mind, body and everything to Him: I behold God near, very near. ||1||
ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰ ਬੇਅੰਤੁ ਬਡ ਦਾਤਾ ਮਨਹਿ ਗਹੀਰਉ ਪੇਖਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ॥੨॥
bēsumār bēant bad dātā manah gahīrau pēkh prabh kau .2.
Beholding God, the inestimable, infinite and Great Giver, I cherish Him in my mind. ||2||
ਜੋ ਚਾਹਉ ਸੋਈ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਵਉ ਆਸਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਪੂਰਉ ਜਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ॥੩॥
jō chāhau sōī sōī pāvau āsā manasā pūrau jap prabh kau .3.
Whatever I wish for, I receive; my hopes and desires are fulfilled, meditating on God. ||3||
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਵਸਿਆ ਦੂਖਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਝੂਰਉ ਬੁਝਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਉ ॥੪॥੨॥੩॥
gur prasād nānak man vasiā dūkh n kabahū jhūrau bujh prabh kau .4.2.3.
By Guru's Grace, God dwells in Nanak's mind; he never suffers or grieves, having realized God. ||4||2||3||

ਲੋੜੀਦੜਾ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
lōrīdarā sājan mērā .
I seek my Friend the Lord.
ਘਰਿ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਗਲ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਨੀਕੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ghar ghar mangal gāvah nīkē ghat ghat tisah basērā .1. rahāu .
In each and every home, sing the sublime songs of rejoicing; He abides in each and every heart. ||1||Pause||
ਸੂਖਿ ਅਰਾਧਨੁ ਦੂਖਿ ਅਰਾਧਨੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਨ ਕਾਹੂ ਬੇਰਾ ॥
sūkh arādhan dūkh arādhan bisarai n kāhū bērā .
In good times, worship and adore Him; in bad times, worship and adore Him; do not ever forget Him.
ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਤ ਕੋਟਿ ਸੂਰ ਉਜਾਰਾ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਭਰਮੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ॥੧॥
nām japat kōt sūr ujārā binasai bharam andhērā .1.
Chanting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the light of millions of suns shines forth, and the darkness of doubt is dispelled. ||1||
ਥਾਨਿ ਥਨੰਤਰਿ ਸਭਨੀ ਜਾਈ ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਤੇਰਾ ॥
thān thanantar sabhanī jāī jō dīsai sō tērā .
In all the spaces and interspaces, everywhere, whatever we see is Yours.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਫੇਰਾ ॥੨॥੩॥੪॥
santasang pāvai jō nānak tis bahur n hōī hai phērā .2.3.4.
One who finds the Society of the Saints, O Nanak, is not consigned to reincarnation again. ||2||3||4||
