ਜਿ ਕਰਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰਣਾ ॥
j karāvai sō karanā .
Whatever You cause us to do, we do.

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰੋਇਆ ॥
har nām ridai parōiā .
I have woven the Lord's Name into the fabric of my heart.
ਸਭੁ ਕਾਜੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ॥
sabh kāj hamārā hōiā .
All my affairs are resolved.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
prabh charanī man lāgā .
His mind is attached to God's feet,
ਪੂਰਨ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਭਾਗਾ ॥੧॥
pūran jā kē bhāgā .1.
whose destiny is perfect. ||1||
ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
mil sādhasang har dhiāiā .
Joining the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I meditate on the Lord.
ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਅਰਾਧਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
āth pahar arādhiō har har man chindiā phal pāiā . rahāu .
Twenty-four hours a day, I worship and adore the Lord, Har, Har; I have obtained the fruits of my mind's desires. ||Pause||
ਪਰਾ ਪੂਰਬਲਾ ਅੰਕੁਰੁ ਜਾਗਿਆ ॥
parā pūrabalā ankur jāgiā .
The seeds of my past actions have sprouted.
ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਿਆ ॥
rām nām man lāgiā .
My mind is attached to the Lord's Name.
ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥
man tan har daras samāvai .
My mind and body are absorbed into the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੮॥੭੨॥
nānak dās sachē gun gāvai .2.8.72.
Slave Nanak sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord. ||2||8||72||

ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਚਿਤਾਰਿਆ ॥
gur mil prabhū chitāriā .
Meeting with the Guru, I contemplate God.
ਕਾਰਜ ਸਭਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
kāraj sabh savāriā .
All of my affairs have been resolved.
ਮੰਦਾ ਕੋ ਨ ਅਲਾਏ ॥
mandā kō n alāē .
No one speaks ill of me.
ਸਭ ਜੈ ਜੈ ਕਾਰੁ ਸੁਣਾਏ ॥੧॥
sabh jai jai kār sunāē .1.
Everyone congratulates me on my victory. ||1||
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਸਾਚੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
santah sāchī saran suāmī .
O Saints, I seek the True Sanctuary of the Lord and Master.
ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸਭਿ ਹਾਥਿ ਤਿਸੈ ਕੈ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
jī jant sabh hāth tisai kai sō prabh antarajāmī . rahāu .
All beings and creatures are in His hands; He is God, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||Pause||
ਕਰਤਬ ਸਭਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥
karatab sabh savārē .
He has resolved all of my affairs.
ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਸਮਾਰੇ ॥
prabh apunā birad samārē .
God has confirmed His innate nature.
ਪਤਿਤ ਪਾਵਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਮਾ ॥
patit pāvan prabh nāmā .
God's Name is the Purifier of sinners.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨਾ ॥੨॥੯॥੭੩॥
jan nānak sad kurabānā .2.9.73.
Servant Nanak is forever a sacrifice to Him. ||2||9||73||

ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਸਵਾਰਿਆ ॥
pārabraham sāj savāriā .
The Supreme Lord God created and embellished him.
ਇਹੁ ਲਹੁੜਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਉਬਾਰਿਆ ॥
ih lahurā gurū ubāriā .
The Guru has saved this small child.
ਅਨਦ ਕਰਹੁ ਪਿਤ ਮਾਤਾ ॥
anad karah pit mātā .
So celebrate and be happy, father and mother.
ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਦਾਤਾ ॥੧॥
paramēsar jī kā dātā .1.
The Transcendent Lord is the Giver of souls. ||1||
ਸੁਭ ਚਿਤਵਨਿ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ ॥
subh chitavan dās tumārē .
Your slaves, O Lord, focus on pure thoughts.
ਰਾਖਹਿ ਪੈਜ ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਆਪਿ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rākhah paij dās apunē kī kāraj āp savārē . rahāu .
You preserve the honor of Your slaves, and You Yourself arrange their affairs. ||Pause||
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ॥
mērā prabh paraupakārī .
My God is so benevolent.
ਪੂਰਨ ਕਲ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥
pūran kal jin dhārī .
His Almighty Power is manifest.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਇਆ ॥
nānak saranī āiā .
Nanak has come to His Sanctuary.
ਮਨ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੦॥੭੪॥
man chindiā phal pāiā .2.10.74.
He has obtained the fruits of his mind's desires. ||2||10||74||

Sorat'h, Fifth Mehl:
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਪੇ ॥
sadā sadā har jāpē .
Forever and ever, I chant the Lord's Name.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਾਲਕ ਰਾਖੇ ਆਪੇ ॥
prabh bālak rākhē āpē .
God Himself has saved my child.
ਸੀਤਲਾ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਹਾਈ ॥
sītalā thāk rahāī .
He healed him from the smallpox.
ਬਿਘਨ ਗਏ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਈ ॥੧॥
bighan gaē har nāī .1.
My troubles have been removed through the Lord's Name. ||1||
ਮੇਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਦਾ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
mērā prabh hōā sadā daiālā .
My God is forever Merciful.
ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ਸੁਣੀ ਭਗਤ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕੀ ਸਭ ਜੀਅ ਭਇਆ ਕਿਰਪਾਲਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
aradās sunī bhagat apunē kī sabh jī bhaiā kirapālā . rahāu .
He heard the prayer of His devotee, and now all beings are kind and compassionate to him. ||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਾਥਾ ॥
prabh karan kāran samarāthā .
God is Almighty, the Cause of causes.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਥਾ ॥
har simarat sabh dukh lāthā .
Remembering the Lord in meditation, all pains and sorrows vanish.
ਅਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਕੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ॥
apanē dās kī sunī bēnantī .
He has heard the prayer of His slave.
ਸਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਖਿ ਸਵੰਤੀ ॥੨॥੧੧॥੭੫॥
sabh nānak sukh savantī .2.11.75.
O Nanak, now everyone sleeps in peace. ||2||11||75||

ਅਪਨਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
apanā gurū dhiāē .
I meditated on my Guru.
ਮਿਲਿ ਕੁਸਲ ਸੇਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ॥
mil kusal sētī ghar āē .
I met with Him, and returned home in joy.
ਨਾਮੈ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
nāmai kī vadiāī .
This is the glorious greatness of the Naam.
ਤਿਸੁ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥
tis kīmat kahan n jāī .1.
Its value cannot be estimated. ||1||
ਸੰਤਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਹੁ ॥
santah har har har ārādhah .
O Saints, worship and adore the Lord, Har, Har, Har.
ਹਰਿ ਆਰਾਧਿ ਸਭੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਗਲੇ ਸਾਧਹੁ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
har ārādh sabhō kish pāīai kāraj sagalē sādhah . rahāu .
Worship the Lord in adoration, and you shall obtain everything; your affairs shall all be resolved. ||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲਾਗੀ ॥
prēm bhagat prabh lāgī .
He alone is attached in loving devotion to God,
ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
sō pāē jis vadabhāgī .
who realizes his great destiny.
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
jan nānak nām dhiāiā .
Servant Nanak meditates on the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਤਿਨਿ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖਾ ਫਲ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥੧੨॥੭੬॥
tin sarab sukhā phal pāiā .2.12.76.
He obtains the rewards of all joys and peace. ||2||12||76||

ਪਰਮੇਸਰਿ ਦਿਤਾ ਬੰਨਾ ॥
paramēsar ditā bannā .
The Transcendent Lord has given me His support.
ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਕਾ ਡੇਰਾ ਭੰਨਾ ॥
dukh rōg kā dērā bhannā .
The house of pain and disease has been demolished.
ਅਨਦ ਕਰਹਿ ਨਰ ਨਾਰੀ ॥
anad karah nar nārī .
The men and women celebrate.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
har har prabh kirapā dhārī .1.
The Lord God, Har, Har, has extended His Mercy. ||1||
