ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
guramukh man mērē nām samāl .
As Gurmukh, O my mind, remember the Naam, the Name of the Lord.
ਸਦਾ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਚਲੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
sadā nibahai chalai tērai nāl . rahāu .
It shall stand by you always, and go with you. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
guramukh jāt pat sach sōi .
The True Lord is the social status and honor of the Gurmukh.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਖਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
guramukh antar sakhāī prabh hōi .2.
Within the Gurmukh, is God, his friend and helper. ||2||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਸੋ ਹੋਇ ॥
guramukh jis nō āp karē sō hōi .
He alone becomes Gurmukh, whom the Lord so blesses.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥
guramukh āp vadāī dēvai sōi .3.
He Himself blesses the Gurmukh with greatness. ||3||
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਚੁ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੁ ॥
guramukh sabad sach karanī sār .
The Gurmukh lives the True Word of the Shabad, and practices good deeds.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਰਵਾਰੈ ਸਾਧਾਰੁ ॥੪॥੬॥
guramukh nānak paravārai sādhār .4.6.
The Gurmukh, O Nanak, emancipates his family and relations. ||4||6||
ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Wadahans, Third Mehl:
ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਦਿ ਲਗੀ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥
rasanā har sād lagī sahaj subhāi .
My tongue is intuitively attracted to the taste of the Lord.
ਮਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥
man tripatiā har nām dhiāi .1.
My mind is satisfied, meditating on the Name of the Lord. ||1||
ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
sadā sukh sāchai sabad vīchārī .
Lasting peace is obtained, contemplating the Shabad, the True Word of God.
ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਗੁਰ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
āpanē satagur vitah sadā balihārī .1. rahāu .
I am forever a sacrifice to my True Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਅਖੀ ਸੰਤੋਖੀਆ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
akhī santōkhīā ēk liv lāi .
My eyes are content, lovingly focused on the One Lord.
ਮਨੁ ਸੰਤੋਖਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੨॥
man santōkhiā dūjā bhāu gavāi .2.
My mind is content, having forsaken the love of duality. ||2||
ਦੇਹ ਸਰੀਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਇ ॥
dēh sarīr sukh hōvai sabad har nāi .
The frame of my body is at peace, through the Shabad, and the Name of the Lord.
ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਮਲੁ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੩॥
nām paramal hiradai rahiā samāi .3.
The fragrance of the Naam permeates my heart. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਡਭਾਗੁ ॥
nānak masatak jis vadabhāg .
O Nanak, one who has such great destiny written upon his forehead,
ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਹਜ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ॥੪॥੭॥
gur kī bānī sahaj bairāg .4.7.
through the Bani of the Guru's Word, easily and intuitively becomes free of desire. ||4||7||
ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥

Wadahans, Third Mehl:
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
pūrē gur tē nām pāiā jāi .
From the Perfect Guru, the Naam is obtained.
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੧॥
sachai sabad sach samāi .1.
Through the Shabad, the True Word of God, one merges in the True Lord. ||1||
ਏ ਮਨ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਤੂ ਪਾਇ ॥
ē man nām nidhān tū pāi .
O my soul, obtain the treasure of the Naam,
ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਲੈ ਰਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
āpanē gur kī mann lai rajāi .1. rahāu .
by submitting to the Will of your Guru. ||1||Pause||
ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਮੈਲੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥
gur kai sabad vichah mail gavāi .
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, filth is washed away from within.
ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
niramal nām vasai man āi .2.
The Immaculate Naam comes to abide within the mind. ||2||
ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥
bharamē bhūlā phirai sansār .
Deluded by doubt, the world wanders around.
ਮਰਿ ਜਨਮੈ ਜਮੁ ਕਰੇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥੩॥
mar janamai jam karē khuār .3.
It dies, and is born again, and is ruined by the Messenger of Death. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥
nānak sē vadabhāgī jin har nām dhiāiā .
O Nanak, very fortunate are those who meditate on the Name of the Lord.
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੮॥
gur parasādī mann vasāiā .4.8.
By Guru's Grace, they enshrine the Name within their minds. ||4||8||
ਵਡਹੰਸੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥
vadahans mahalā 3 .
Wadahans, Third Mehl:
ਹਉਮੈ ਨਾਵੈ ਨਾਲਿ ਵਿਰੋਧੁ ਹੈ ਦੁਇ ਨ ਵਸਹਿ ਇਕ ਠਾਇ ॥
haumai nāvai nāl virōdh hai dui n vasah ik thāi .
Ego is opposed to the Name of the Lord; the two do not dwell in the same place.
ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੇਵਾ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
haumai vich sēvā n hōvaī tā man birathā jāi .1.
In egotism, selfless service cannot be performed, and so the soul goes unfulfilled. ||1||
ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੂ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
har chēt man mērē tū gur kā sabad kamāi .
O my mind, think of the Lord, and practice the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਮੰਨਹਿ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
hukam mannah tā har milai tā vichah haumai jāi . rahāu .
If you submit to the Hukam of the Lord's Command, then you shall meet with the Lord; only then will your ego depart from within. ||Pause||
ਹਉਮੈ ਸਭੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਹੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਓਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
haumai sabh sarīr hai haumai ōpat hōi .
Egotism is within all bodies; through egotism, we come to be born.
ਹਉਮੈ ਵਡਾ ਗੁਬਾਰੁ ਹੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਬੁਝਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
haumai vadā gubār hai haumai vich bujh n sakai kōi .2.
Egotism is total darkness; in egotism, no one can understand anything. ||2||
ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਵਈ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਬੁਝਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥
haumai vich bhagat n hōvaī hukam n bujhiā jāi .
In egotism, devotional worship cannot be performed, and the Hukam of the Lord's Command cannot be understood.
ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਜੀਉ ਬੰਧੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੩॥
haumai vich jīu bandh hai nām n vasai man āi .3.
In egotism, the soul is in bondage, and the Naam, the Name of the Lord, does not come to abide in the mind. ||3||
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਹਉਮੈ ਗਈ ਤਾ ਸਚੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
nānak satagur miliai haumai gaī tā sach vasiā man āi .
O Nanak, meeting with the True Guru, egotism is eliminated, and then, the True Lord comes to dwell in the mind||
ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਸਚਿ ਰਹੈ ਸਚੇ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਮਾਇ ॥੪॥੯॥੧੨॥
sach kamāvai sach rahai sachē sēv samāi .4.9.12.
One starts practicing truth, abides in truth and by serving the True One gets absorbed in Him. ||4||9||12||

One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
ਸੇਜ ਏਕ ਏਕੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ॥
sēj ēk ēkō prabh thākur .
There is one bed, and One Lord God.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਵੇ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰੁ ॥੧॥
guramukh har rāvē sukh sāgar .1.
The Gurmukh enjoys the Lord, the ocean of peace. ||1||
ਮੈ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਣ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਮਨਿ ਆਸਾ ॥
mai prabh milan prēm man āsā .
My mind longs to meet my Beloved Lord.
