ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਹਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਹਿਆ ॥
apunē satigur pah binau kahiā .
I offer my prayer to my True Guru.
ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਦਇਆਲ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਜਨ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਗਲ ਅੰਦੇਸਰਾ ਗਇਆ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhaē kripāl daiāl dukh bhanjan mērā sagal andēsarā gaiā . rahāu .
The Destroyer of distress has become kind and merciful, and all my anxiety is over. ||Pause||
ਹਮ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਾਖੰਡੀ ਲੋਭੀ ਹਮਰਾ ਗੁਨੁ ਅਵਗੁਨੁ ਸਭੁ ਸਹਿਆ ॥
ham pāpī pākhandī lōbhī hamarā gun avagun sabh sahiā .
I am a sinner, hypocritical and greedy, but still, He puts up with all of my merits and demerits.
ਕਰੁ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਸਾਜਿ ਨਿਵਾਜੇ ਮੁਏ ਦੁਸਟ ਜੋ ਖਇਆ ॥੧॥
kar masatak dhār sāj nivājē muē dusat jō khaiā .1.
Placing His hand on my forehead, He has exalted me. The wicked ones who wanted to destroy me have been killed. ||1||
ਪਰਉਪਕਾਰੀ ਸਰਬ ਸਧਾਰੀ ਸਫਲ ਦਰਸਨ ਸਹਜਇਆ ॥
paraupakārī sarab sadhārī saphal darasan sahajaiā .
He is generous and benevolent, the beautifier of all, the embodiment of peace; the Blessed Vision of His Darshan is so fruitful!
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਉ ਦਾਤਾ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਉਰ ਧਰਿਆ ॥੨॥੨੪॥
kah nānak niragun kau dātā charan kamal ur dhariā .2.24.
Says Nanak, He is the Giver to the unworthy; I enshrine His Lotus Feet within my heart. ||2||24||
ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

ਅਨਾਥ ਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਮਾਰੇ ॥
anāth nāth prabh hamārē .
My God is the Master of the masterless.
ਸਰਨਿ ਆਇਓ ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saran āiō rākhanahārē . rahāu .
I have come to the Sanctuary of the Savior Lord. ||Pause||
ਸਰਬ ਪਾਖ ਰਾਖੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥
sarab pākh rākh murārē .
Protect me on all sides, O Lord;
ਆਗੈ ਪਾਛੈ ਅੰਤੀ ਵਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
āgai pāshai antī vārē .1.
protect me in the future, in the past, and at the very last moment. ||1||
ਜਬ ਚਿਤਵਉ ਤਬ ਤੁਹਾਰੇ ॥
jab chitavau tab tuhārē .
Whenever something comes to mind, it is You.
ਉਨ ਸਮ੍ਹਾਰਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਸਧਾਰੇ ॥੨॥
un samhār mērā man sadhārē .2.
Contemplating Your virtues, my mind is sanctified. ||2||
ਸੁਨਿ ਗਾਵਉ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨਾਰੇ ॥
sun gāvau gur bachanārē .
I hear and sing the Hymns of the Guru's Word.
ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ਸਾਧ ਦਰਸਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
bal bal jāu sādh darasārē .3.
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy. ||3||
ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਖਉ ਏਕ ਅਸਾਰੇ ॥
man mah rākhau ēk asārē .
Within my mind, I have the Support of the One Lord alone.
ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਰਨੈਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥
nānak prabh mērē karanaihārē .4.25.
O Nanak, my God is the Creator of all. ||4||25||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਇਹੈ ਮਨੋਰਥੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥

God, this is my heart's desire:
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੀਜੈ ਕਰਿ ਸੰਤਨ ਕਾ ਚੇਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kripā nidhān daiāl mōh dījai kar santan kā chērā . rahāu .
O treasure of kindness, O Merciful Lord, please make me the slave of your Saints. ||Pause||
ਪ੍ਰਾਤਹਕਾਲ ਲਾਗਉ ਜਨ ਚਰਨੀ ਨਿਸ ਬਾਸੁਰ ਦਰਸੁ ਪਾਵਉ ॥
prātahakāl lāgau jan charanī nis bāsur daras pāvau .
In the early hours of the morning, I fall at the feet of Your humble servants; night and day, I obtain the Blessed Vision of their Darshan.
ਤਨੁ ਮਨੁ ਅਰਪਿ ਕਰਉ ਜਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਰਸਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵਉ ॥੧॥
tan man arap karau jan sēvā rasanā har gun gāvau .1.
Dedicating my body and mind, I serve the humble servant of the Lord; with my tongue, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||1||
ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਤ ਰਹੀਐ ॥
sās sās simarau prabh apunā santasang nit rahīai .
With each and every breath, I meditate in remembrance on my God; I live continually in the Society of the Saints.
ਏਕੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਨੁ ਮੋਰਾ ਅਨਦੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਹੁ ਲਹੀਐ ॥੨॥੨੬॥
ēk adhār nām dhan mōrā anad nānak ih lahīai .2.26.
The Naam, the Name of the Lord, is my only support and wealth; O Nanak, from this, I obtain bliss. ||2||26||

ਮੀਤਾ ਐਸੇ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਪਾਏ ॥
mītā aisē har jīu pāē .
O friend, such is the Dear Lord whom I have obtained.
ਛੋਡਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਸੰਗੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਗਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
shōd n jāī sad hī sangē anadin gur mil gāē .1. rahāu .
He does not leave me, and He always keeps me company. Meeting the Guru, night and day, I sing His Praises. ||1||Pause||
ਮਿਲਿਓ ਮਨੋਹਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਸੁਖੈਨਾ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਨ ਕਤਹੂ ਜਾਏ ॥
miliō manōhar sarab sukhainā tiāg n katahū jāē .
I met the Fascinating Lord, who has blessed me with all comforts; He does not leave me to go anywhere else.
ਅਨਿਕ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਾਤਿ ਬਹੁ ਪੇਖੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਰੋਮ ਨ ਸਮਸਰਿ ਲਾਏ ॥੧॥
anik anik bhāt bah pēkhē pri rōm n samasar lāē .1.
I have seen the mortals of many and various types, but they are not equal to even a hair of my Beloved. ||1||
ਮੰਦਰਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਸੋਭ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਅਨਹਤ ਰੁਣੁ ਝੁਣੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
mandar bhāg sōbh duārai anahat run jhun lāē .
His palace is so beautiful! His gate is so wonderful! The celestial melody of the sound current resounds there.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਾਣੇ ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਥੀਤੇ ਸਦ ਥਾਏ ॥੨॥੧॥੨੭॥
kah nānak sadā rang mānē grih pri thītē sad thāē .2.1.27.
Says Nanak, I enjoy eternal bliss; I have obtained a permanent place in the home of my Beloved. ||2||1||27||

ਦਰਸਨ ਨਾਮ ਕਉ ਮਨੁ ਆਛੈ ॥
darasan nām kau man āshai .
My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, and His Name.
ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਆਇਓ ਹੈ ਸਗਲ ਥਾਨ ਰੇ ਆਹਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਸੰਤ ਪਾਛੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
bhram āiō hai sagal thān rē āh pariō sant pāshai .1. rahāu .
I have wandered everywhere, and now I have come to follow the Saint. ||1||Pause||
ਕਿਸੁ ਹਉ ਸੇਵੀ ਕਿਸੁ ਆਰਾਧੀ ਜੋ ਦਿਸਟੈ ਸੋ ਗਾਛੈ ॥
kis hau sēvī kis ārādhī jō disatai sō gāshai .
Whom should I serve? Whom should I worship in adoration? Whoever I see shall pass away.
