Aasaa:
ਗਜ ਸਾਢੇ ਤੈ ਤੈ ਧੋਤੀਆ ਤਿਹਰੇ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਤਗ ॥
gaj sādhē tai tai dhōtīā tiharē pāin tag .
They wear loin cloths, three and a half yards long, and triple-wound sacred threads.
ਗਲੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾ ਜਪਮਾਲੀਆ ਲੋਟੇ ਹਥਿ ਨਿਬਗ ॥
galī jinhā japamālīā lōtē hath nibag .
They have rosaries around their necks, and they carry glittering jugs in their hands.
ਓਇ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਬਾਨਾਰਸਿ ਕੇ ਠਗ ॥੧॥
ōi har kē sant n ākhīah bānāras kē thag .1.
They are not called Saints of the Lord - they are thugs of Benares. ||1||
ਐਸੇ ਸੰਤ ਨ ਮੋ ਕਉ ਭਾਵਹਿ ॥
aisē sant n mō kau bhāvah .
Such 'saints' are not pleasing to me;
ਡਾਲਾ ਸਿਉ ਪੇਡਾ ਗਟਕਾਵਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
dālā siu pēdā gatakāvah .1. rahāu .
they eat the trees along with the branches. ||1||Pause||
ਬਾਸਨ ਮਾਂਜਿ ਚਰਾਵਹਿ ਊਪਰਿ ਕਾਠੀ ਧੋਇ ਜਲਾਵਹਿ ॥
bāsan mānhj charāvah ūpar kāthī dhōi jalāvah .
They wash their pots and pans before putting them on the stove, and they wash the wood before lighting it.
ਬਸੁਧਾ ਖੋਦਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦੁਇ ਚੂਲ੍ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਣਸ ਖਾਵਹਿ ॥੨॥
basudhā khōd karah dui chūlhē sārē mānas khāvah .2.
They dig up the earth and make two fireplaces, but they eat the whole person! ||2||
ਓਇ ਪਾਪੀ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਮੁਖਹੁ ਅਪਰਸ ਕਹਾਵਹਿ ॥
ōi pāpī sadā phirah aparādhī mukhah aparas kahāvah .
Those sinners continually wander in evil deeds, while they call themselves touch-nothing saints.
ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੀ ਸਗਲ ਕੁਟੰਬ ਡੁਬਾਵਹਿ ॥੩॥
sadā sadā phirah abhimānī sagal kutanb dubāvah .3.
They wander around forever and ever in their self-conceit, and all their families are drowned. ||3||
ਜਿਤੁ ਕੋ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਿਤ ਹੀ ਲਾਗਾ ਤੈਸੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥
jit kō lāiā tit hī lāgā taisē karam kamāvai .
He is attached to that, to which the Lord has attached him, and he acts accordingly.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੈ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੪॥੨॥
kah kabīr jis satigur bhētai punarap janam n āvai .4.2.
Says Kabeer, one who meets the True Guru, is not reincarnated again. ||4||2||

ਬਾਪਿ ਦਿਲਾਸਾ ਮੇਰੋ ਕੀਨ੍ਹਾ ॥ ਸੇਜ ਸੁਖਾਲੀ ਮੁਖਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਦੀਨ੍ਹਾ ॥
bāp dilāsā mērō kīnhā . sēj sukhālī mukh anmrit dīnhā .
My Father has comforted me. He has given me a cozy bed, and placed His Ambrosial Nectar in my mouth.
ਤਿਸੁ ਬਾਪ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀ ॥
tis bāp kau kiu manah visārī .
How could I forget that Father from my mind?
ਆਗੈ ਗਇਆ ਨ ਬਾਜੀ ਹਾਰੀ ॥੧॥
āgai gaiā n bājī hārī .1.
When I go to the world hereafter, I shall not lose the game. ||1||
ਮੁਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਈ ਹਉ ਖਰਾ ਸੁਖਾਲਾ ॥
muī mērī māī hau kharā sukhālā .
Maya is dead, O mother, and I am very happy.
ਪਹਿਰਉ ਨਹੀ ਦਗਲੀ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
pahirau nahī dagalī lagai n pālā .1. rahāu .
I do not wear the patched coat, nor do I feel the chill. ||1||Pause||
ਬਲਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਾਪੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਉ ਜਾਇਆ ॥
bal tis bāpai jin hau jāiā .
I am a sacrifice to my Father, who gave me life.
ਪੰਚਾ ਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਚੁਕਾਇਆ ॥
panchā tē mērā sang chukāiā .
He put an end to my association with the five deadly sins.
ਪੰਚ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਾਵਾ ਤਲਿ ਦੀਨੇ ॥
panch mār pāvā tal dīnē .
I have conquered those five demons, and trampled them underfoot.
ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਭੀਨੇ ॥੨॥
har simaran mērā man tan bhīnē .2.
Remembering the Lord in meditation, my mind and body are drenched with His Love. ||2||
ਪਿਤਾ ਹਮਾਰੋ ਵਡ ਗੋਸਾਈ ॥
pitā hamārō vad gōsāī .
My Father is the Great Lord of the Universe.
ਤਿਸੁ ਪਿਤਾ ਪਹਿ ਹਉ ਕਿਉ ਕਰਿ ਜਾਈ ॥
tis pitā pah hau kiu kar jāī .
How shall I go to that Father?
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਮਿਲੇ ਤ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ॥
satigur milē t mārag dikhāiā .
When I met the True Guru, He showed me the Way.
ਜਗਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
jagat pitā mērai man bhāiā .3.
The Father of the Universe is pleasing to my mind. ||3||
ਹਉ ਪੂਤੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂੰ ਬਾਪੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥
hau pūt tērā tūn bāp mērā .
I am Your son, and You are my Father.
ਏਕੈ ਠਾਹਰ ਦੁਹਾ ਬਸੇਰਾ ॥
ēkai thāhar duhā basērā .
We both dwell in the same place.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜਨਿ ਏਕੋ ਬੂਝਿਆ ॥
kah kabīr jan ēkō būjhiā .
Says Kabeer, the Lord's humble servant knows only the One.
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਮੈ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੂਝਿਆ ॥੪॥੩॥
gur prasād mai sabh kish sūjhiā .4.3.
By Guru's Grace, I have come to know everything. ||4||3||

ਇਕਤੁ ਪਤਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਉਰਕਟ ਕੁਰਕਟ ਇਕਤੁ ਪਤਰਿ ਭਰਿ ਪਾਨੀ ॥
ikat patar bhar urakat kurakat ikat patar bhar pānī .
In one pot, they put a boiled chicken, and in the other pot, they put wine.
ਆਸਿ ਪਾਸਿ ਪੰਚ ਜੋਗੀਆ ਬੈਠੇ ਬੀਚਿ ਨਕਟ ਦੇ ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
ās pās panch jōgīā baithē bīch nakat dē rānī .1.
The five Yogis of the Tantric ritual sit there, and in their midst sits the noseless one, the shameless queen. ||1||
ਨਕਟੀ ਕੋ ਠਨਗਨੁ ਬਾਡਾ ਡੂੰ ॥
nakatī kō thanagan bādā dūn .
The bell of the shameless queen, Maya, rings in both worlds.
ਕਿਨਹਿ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਕਾਟੀ ਤੂੰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
kinah bibēkī kātī tūn .1. rahāu .
Some rare person of discriminating wisdom has cut off your nose. ||1||Pause||
ਸਗਲ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਕਟੀ ਕਾ ਵਾਸਾ ਸਗਲ ਮਾਰਿ ਅਉਹੇਰੀ ॥
sagal māh nakatī kā vāsā sagal mār auhērī .
Within all dwells the noseless Maya, who kills all, and destroys them.
ਸਗਲਿਆ ਕੀ ਹਉ ਬਹਿਨ ਭਾਨਜੀ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਬਰੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਚੇਰੀ ॥੨॥
sagaliā kī hau bahin bhānajī jinah barī tis chērī .2.
She says, "I am the sister, and the daughter of the sister of everyone; I am the hand-maiden of one who marries me."||2||
ਹਮਰੋ ਭਰਤਾ ਬਡੋ ਬਿਬੇਕੀ ਆਪੇ ਸੰਤੁ ਕਹਾਵੈ ॥
hamarō bharatā badō bibēkī āpē sant kahāvai .
My Husband is the Great One of discriminating wisdom; He alone is called a Saint.
ਓਹੁ ਹਮਾਰੈ ਮਾਥੈ ਕਾਇਮੁ ਅਉਰੁ ਹਮਰੈ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥੩॥
ōh hamārai māthai kāim aur hamarai nikat n āvai .3.
He stands by me, and no one else comes near me. ||3||
ਨਾਕਹੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਾਨਹੁ ਕਾਟੀ ਕਾਟਿ ਕੂਟਿ ਕੈ ਡਾਰੀ ॥
nākah kātī kānah kātī kāt kūt kai dārī .
I have cut off her nose, and cut off her ears, and cutting her into bits, I have expelled her.
ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਬੈਰਨਿ ਤੀਨਿ ਲੋਕ ਕੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ॥੪॥੪॥
kah kabīr santan kī bairan tīn lōk kī piārī .4.4.
Says Kabeer, she is the darling of the three worlds, but the enemy of the Saints. ||4||4||

Aasaa:
ਜੋਗੀ ਜਤੀ ਤਪੀ ਸੰਨਿਆਸੀ ਬਹੁ ਤੀਰਥ ਭ੍ਰਮਨਾ ॥
jōgī jatī tapī sanniāsī bah tīrath bhramanā .
The Yogis, celibates, penitents and Sannyaasees make pilgrimages to all the sacred places.
ਲੁੰਜਿਤ ਮੁੰਜਿਤ ਮੋਨਿ ਜਟਾਧਰ ਅੰਤਿ ਤਊ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੧॥
lunjit munjit mōn jatādhar ant taū maranā .1.
The Jains with shaven heads, the silent ones, the beggars with matted hair - in the end, they all shall die. ||1||
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੇਵੀਅਲੇ ਰਾਮਨਾ ॥
tā tē sēvīalē rāmanā .
Meditate, therefore, on the Lord.
ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਹਿਤੁ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕਹਾ ਕਰੈ ਜਮਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
rasanā rām nām hit jā kai kahā karai jamanā .1. rahāu .
What can the Messenger of Death do to one whose tongue loves the Name of the Lord? ||1||Pause||
ਆਗਮ ਨਿਰਗਮ ਜੋਤਿਕ ਜਾਨਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਬਹੁ ਬਿਆਕਰਨਾ ॥
āgam niragam jōtik jānah bah bah biākaranā .
Those who know the Shaastras and the Vedas, astrology and the rules of grammar of many languages;
