ਵਡਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
vadā mērā gōvind agam agōchar ād niranjan nirankār jīu .
My Lord of the Universe is great, unapproachable, unfathomable, primal, immaculate and formless.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਕਹੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਅਮਿਤਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰ ਜੀਉ ॥
tā kī gat kahī n jāī amit vadiāī mērā gōvind alakh apār jīu .
His condition cannot be described; His Glorious Greatness is immeasurable. My Lord of the Universe is invisible and infinite.
ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਲਖ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਆਪੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਾਣੈ ॥
gōvind alakh apār aparanpar āp āpanā jānai .
The Lord of the Universe is invisible, infinite and unlimited. He Himself knows Himself.
ਕਿਆ ਇਹ ਜੰਤ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਕਹੀਅਹਿ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਖਿ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥
kiā ih jant vichārē kahīah jō tudh ākh vakhānai .
What should these poor creatures say? How can they speak of and describe You?
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਅਪਣੀ ਸੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
jis nō nadar karah tūn apanī sō guramukh karē vīchār jīu .
That Gurmukh who is blessed by Your Glance of Grace contemplates You.
ਵਡਾ ਮੇਰਾ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥

ਤੂੰ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
tūn ād purakh aparanpar karatā tērā pār n pāiā jāi jīu .
You, O Lord, O Primal Being, are the Limitless Creator; Your limits cannot be found.
ਤੂੰ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
tūn ghat ghat antar sarab nirantar sabh mah rahiā samāi jīu .
You are pervading and permeating each and every heart, everywhere, You are contained in all.
ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
ghat antar pārabraham paramēsar tā kā ant n pāiā .
Within the heart is the Transcendent, Supreme Lord God, whose limits cannot be found.
ਤਿਸੁ ਰੂਪੁ ਨ ਰੇਖ ਅਦਿਸਟੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ॥
tis rūp n rēkh adisat agōchar guramukh alakh lakhāiā .
He has no form or shape; He is unseen and unknown. The Gurmukh sees the unseen Lord.
ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦਿ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
sadā anand rahai din rātī sahajē nām samāi jīu .
He remains in continual ecstasy, day and night, and is spontaneously absorbed into the Naam.
ਤੂੰ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
tūn ād purakh aparanpar karatā tērā pār n pāiā jāi jīu .2.
You, O Lord, O Primal Being, are the Limitless Creator; Your limits cannot be found. ||2||
ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
tūn sat paramēsar sadā abināsī har har gunī nidhān jīu .
You are the True, Transcendent Lord, forever imperishable. The Lord, Har, Har, is the treasure of virtue.
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
har har prabh ēkō avar n kōī tūn āpē purakh sujān jīu .
The Lord God, Har, Har, is the One and only; there is no other at all. You Yourself are the all-knowing Lord.
ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸੁਜਾਨੁ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਧਾਨੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥
purakh sujān tūn paradhān tudh jēvad avar n kōī .
You are the all-knowing Lord, the most exalted and auspicious; there is no other as great as You.
ਤੇਰਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਸਭੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
tērā sabad sabh tūnhai varatah tūn āpē karah s hōī .
The Word of Your Shabad is pervading in all; whatever You do, comes to pass.
ਹਰਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਈ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਲਖਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਜੀਉ ॥
har sabh mah raviā ēkō sōī guramukh lakhiā har nām jīu .
The One Lord God is permeating all; the Gurmukh comes to understand the Lord's Name.
ਤੂੰ ਸਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਦਾ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣੀ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
tūn sat paramēsar sadā abināsī har har gunī nidhān jīu .3.

sabh tūnhai karatā sabh tērī vadiāī jiu bhāvai tivai chalāi jīu .
You are the Creator of all, and all greatness is Yours. As it pleases Your Will, so do we act.
ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਵਹਿ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
tudh āpē bhāvai tivai chalāvah sabh tērai sabad samāi jīu .
As it pleases Your Will, so do we act. All are merged into Your Shabad.
ਸਭ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ਜਾਂ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤੇਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
sabh sabad samāvai jānh tudh bhāvai tērai sabad vadiāī .
When it pleases Your Will, we obtain greatness through Your Shabad.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈਐ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥
guramukh budh pāīai āp gavāīai sabadē rahiā samāī .
The Gurmukh obtains wisdom, and eliminates his self-conceit, and remains absorbed in the Shabad.
ਤੇਰਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥
tērā sabad agōchar guramukh pāīai nānak nām samāi jīu .
The Gurmukh obtains Your incomprehensible Shabad; O Nanak, he remains merged in the Naam.
ਸਭੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਚਲਾਇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੭॥੧੪॥
sabh tūnhai karatā sabh tērī vadiāī jiu bhāvai tivai chalāi jīu .4.7.14.
You are the Creator of all, and all greatness is Yours. As it pleases Your Will, so do we act. ||4||7||14||
ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥

ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਭਿੰਨੇ ਲੋਇਣਾ ਮਨੁ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿ ਰਤੰਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਰਾਜੇ ॥
har anmrit bhinnē lōinā man prēm ratannā rām rājē .
My eyes are wet with the Nectar of the Lord, and my mind is imbued with His Love, O Lord King.
ਮਨੁ ਰਾਮਿ ਕਸਵਟੀ ਲਾਇਆ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਸੋਵਿੰਨਾ ॥
man rām kasavatī lāiā kanchan sōvinnā .
The Lord applied His touch-stone to my mind, and found it one hundred per cent gold.
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਲੂਲਿਆ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੋ ਭਿੰਨਾ ॥
guramukh rang chalūliā mērā man tanō bhinnā .
As Gurmukh, I am dyed in the deep red of the poppy, and my mind and body are drenched with His Love.
